2004 Subaru Outback Head Gasket Replacement 

Step-by-step instructions on how to replace the head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust gaskets, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, spark plug tube seals, and valve cover grommets on a 4 cylinder, 2.5 liter, 2004 Subaru Outback (the EJ25 engine). I recommend doing a transmission fluid change, and a differential fluid change for both the front and rear differential. You will have to do an oil change and a coolant change.
