"2004: The Stupid Version is a satirical documentary written by Armando Iannucci, broadcast in two parts on BBC Three on New Year's Eve 2004. The one-off programme is a parody of review programmes typically broadcast at New Year. It features edited footage from news and television series, as well as satires on the politics and fads of a year in which "only Andrew Marr kept his dignity"."

Fair play for uploading this I cannot believe its nine years old! Obviously the blue print for Time Trumpet and just like Time Trumpet no bugger watched it. Thanks for posting it!

Random pointless fact: The narrator for the nominees for 'Chip Pan Fire of the Year' ( 28:53 ) is the same VO artist from the 'Friendface' promo video in The IT Crowd.

Wow! ...so six or seven years before Charlie Brooker's legendary Yearly Wipes we had this random retrospective gem of irreverence for 2004. Feels like it's from an alternate reality. Reassuring to see how, actually, even 2004 (the good old days way back when) was almost as bewildering 2022.
