I bought it on line from Auto Tech for $399.00, took it to a local muffler shop and the guys cut off the stock exhuast and mounted the new one for only $35.00. Later I got under the car and replaced the band clamps with regular muffler clamps to hold it together better. I HAVE LOVE IT SINCE!

How is this compare to 1.8 turbo chipped?

Did your car come stock with the VR6? Or did you swap engine? Because I can only find 2004 and 2005 GLI with the 1.8T. :(

6416 views?? WOW!! I still have the car and it is STILL THE SAME! Windows are tinted and it only has 83,000 miles on it> It is so much fun to drive and sounds so cool when you get on it! I held it down in this video because my neighbor the fireman was outside in his yard when I wanted to get on it! HA! I LOVE this car!

This is a amazing car. Too bad the ones jettas I can find are the 1.9T models or MK3. I did find a VR6 but it had a blown engine... Their pretty good cars I'm hoping I can find a older GTI or a 05+ GLI

The 1.8 chipped maybe a little quicker off the line, but this chipped VR6 will go 150mph,,,,,, rduquet

Whenever I see a VR6, I'm like f*** yeah, because those cars are awesome. It would have been cool if Kelly from RID actually drove this car in the show. Yes, I'm aware that I often at times reference Junko Shiragami/Kelly from Car Robots/Transformers: Robots in Disguise, but I really love the crap out of her. For this reason alone, I gave this car the nickname "Kelly's Jetta". Even though it looks like an ordinary Jetta, it has a real "sports car" feel to it. It's the closet you're ever gonna get to a cheapskate's Lamborghini.

Todd, sorry to take so long to get back to you, my VR6 has a computer CHIP upgrade and it is very scray fast to me. I have had it up to 120 mph in 5th gear and still climbing, I do not have the guts to shift it into 6th gear to see what top speed really is. It is too fast,,,. I drive truck for a living and cannot risk it. I beleive the car will do 150mph. rduquet
