I learned the hard way...... word of advise, use some painter's tape on top of the bumper where it meets the bottom of the grille..... upon yanking the grille off(as described in this video) the bottom side of the grille's tabs will leave scratches on the top side of the bumper....not cool.
@@americanmuscle You caught my liberties in translation LOL I described it using my experience in removing the grille. Sorry Steph! I must say, looks like you've been hitting the gym! Keep up the good work at AM :-)
I’m about to do mine tomorrow. Only part that confused me was you said make sure there’s enough wire to reach the battery . But nothing ended up going to the battery. Yellow to white headlight and red to running light power ? Did I miss something?
I installed these myself and for some reason the left wire on that harness did not give power to the halos. When I connected the red wire that was supplied to the right side of the harness they came on but my other wire had been cut. The left side wire was still cut but I reconnected them because smaller parking light bulb did not come on anymore but I fixed that issue and now the halos do not come on.
EDIT: I finished the install, didn't know what the yellow wire was for so I just didn't use it, fog lights and halos seem to work just fine without it, so I rolled the yellow wire up and tucked it out of the way, not gonna bother with it. for people who don't already know what each wire does (myself included), It'd be great if you said what each individual does, rather than just saying where you are splicing them, so that we can better understand what is going on at a fundamental level so that we may make more informed decisions on how we personally would like to splice our own wires. for example, if we're plugging the ballast into the factory fog light connector, why does the yellow wire of the supplied wiring harness need to splice into the white wire of the headlight? I would think that both the power, and ability to switch that power on/off (to the new fog light) is already accomplished by the factory fog light connector via the headlight switch in the dash, the yellow wire is the only one i really don't understand here This is how i currently understand things: - factory fog light connector supplies power and ground source as well as the on/off switch for fog light --------- - red wire of supplied harness - uses parking light power to operate halo light ---------- - yellow wire of supplied harness - ??? what is this for? it is never mentioned in the video what this wire DOES, what is it for exactly? ------- in the video, you position the harness so that it can be spliced into the white wire while "still being able to reach the battery", this mention of reaching the battery is never explained, but Im assuming that if it needs to reach a battery, its for power, so this leads me to believe that we're tapping into the headlight wire for power with this yellow wire but as i had just theorized, the factory fog light SHOULD already be the power source for each individual ballast, thus my confusion. SPILL THE BEANZ WUTS THE YELLA WIRE FOR?? TELL US YOUR SECRETS! if you'd be so kind.
Hello, tried installing these on my 07 Gt, the fog lights come on. And I’ve been following every step, but the halos do not come on at all, plugged the yellow into the white wire and the red into the left wire on the DRL, tried everything, they still don’t come on. I need help please.
