Super excited to add the rear sway bar to my car. Just got it in the mail. My end links went bad on my rear end and I wanted a better sway bar as well so this should make my 2012 feel so much better

He installed the front end links wrong ? top and bottom should not face the same way, and with the end links they came with do not fit in the last two holes, and one more thing , one end link that came with did not fit the thicker bolt that goes on the top end link in back. white line from american muscle had defective parts for the front and back adjustable sway bars. I had to modify both the front sway bar holes and the rear end sway links. I am totally disappointed with American Muscle after waiting 4 months for something they said was in stock the product was defective!

That’s why I came to this video. A shop installed my front ones for me because I didn’t have the time, and they installed them facing the same direction like in the video. After 3 days, one of the end links snapped while I was on the interstate and fell out of the car. The shop didn’t even know what they did, luckily I did. But I went to this video to see how they did it, and they installed them wrong too

I came to the comments to see if I was the only one who noticed. This is very dangerous that they are showing incorrect information in this video. Disappointed.

Supposed to have washers on both sides at 06:35. Wrong washer against the nut at 07:54. You can see it's too big. It's one of the 4 that you were supposed to put on the top end link bolts. Maybe Whiteline can just make their own videos since AM can't install it correctly.

While the rear sway bar is quite a lot larger in diameter than the stock bar, the lever arm is also quite a lot longer than the factory bar. So, since this bar is significantly different from the stock bar in both aspects, I suggest that the diameter increase should not present a concern that it will adversely affect handling. When both were installed on my 2014 S197 3.7L Premium (with other stock components), I found total roll to be much improved, with excellent balance between over/under steer, and without being too firm overall in cornering. I installed the link bolts on the 2nd hole from back of each bar on each side. This setup provides options for fine-tuning and for using a firmer spring setup down the road. This system is significantly heavier than the stock components; I calculated that the Whiteline system was exactly 15 lbs heavier than stock on my car. In my opinion, Whiteline nailed it with this kit! This video is a fairly good representation. However, my car had a large brace aft of the front bumper that needed to be removed to access to front bar. In total, using a jack & jack stands, and fully adjusting the system required me about twice as much time as estimated by AmericanMuscle.

I literally just did my front bar this morning, also on a 3.7, and also have the bracing. I went 3rd hole from the end. Did u mess around and try other adjustments?
@trans4md74
@trans4md74 11 месяцев назад
@@neilmaccallum3476 Yes, I think I originally began by using the 2nd holes from the end. As I continued tuning the body roll, I eventually ended up using the third hole from the end on both right and left sides. I also have the Whiteline’s rear sway bar on this vehicle. I’m currently using the end holes on that bar, but am considering some minor adjustments.

Buyer beware , this kit requires you to reuse front sway bar bracket ! Whiteline sent me instructions how to do so, If I known this before purchase I would've went with something else. Wish me luck, currently looking for brackets , because I don't have my stock bar anymore to transfer the brackets

Any info on those adjustable end links? Such as how to know how much to adjust them?
@Jonnyv2388
@Jonnyv2388 2 года назад
I’m not an expert but I think the adjustment of the endlinks is just for fit because some ppl have their cars lowered like mine and stock end links are wayyyyy to long

It would be nice if you got new mounting brackets for the front. It makes no sense to have to buy new brackets because the old ones wont budge

In this video they installed those incorrectly. The end link bolts should not face the same direction. One is facing the Chasis and the other one is facing the caliper. If installed like they show in this video, unfortunately, that is the cause of your issue.

You don’t just throw the end links on and go. You didn’t even explain preload!
@newfie-dean5803
@newfie-dean5803 Год назад
Can you explain it? Do you tighten the end links with the car lowered onto ramps or blocks? Every video I see of this has the install completely done with the car in the air.
@Soap_Bar
@Soap_Bar Год назад
@@newfie-dean5803 You're not supposed to torque anything like that until the weight of the car is loading the components. You would take a jack to the control arm, add some load, then tighten the nuts. I'm not sure how true it is, but I've seen a lot of people say you have to
@newfie-dean5803
@newfie-dean5803 Год назад
@@Soap_Bar the ford instructions show everything being done with the car on Jack stands for the front including the tightening but for the rear they specifically state you must torque everything with the car on wheels and lowered. I don’t understand why they specify this for the rear but not for the front too.

You guys are totally lost the front installation has nothing to do with the S197 as he stated it does
