Here is my review of a 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor. My Fan page: / intechdude300 My personal Instagram: / intechdude300 Intechdude300 on Twitter: / intechdude300
Actually very impressed by this car! Love how it still feels solid and drives like a new car after 12 years. I love these kind of videos, rather than some biased auto journalist reviewing the car.
I purchased a 2005 (in silver with black interior) last week and I am impressed. granted it doesn't drive like my 2014 Lexus Is 250 AWD, but considering its age.
I’ve had plenty of other cars and my 2005 c230 is the best one i have owned. Very stylish, great gas mileage and fun to drive. Great video for a review.
Just bought a 2005 kompressor myself. I showed my wife this video before I bought it and it reassured her that it's a beautiful car. I appreciate the video, truly did help me 😅
@@gabegarcia7779 I too am in this position right now. Trying to find the proper car for myself too. Thanks for the advice. Everyone outthere, keep safe.🍁
My dad got his 2005 c230 kompressor about 3 years ago, got it with super low miles and in GREAT shape but he is still a teenager at heart and beats the ever living shit out of it. I just got my license a couple months ago and man oh man do i love driving that car :D such a fun and zippy yet smooth ride around town. It has a very "weird" exhaust note in person (his seems like its a little louder than the one in this video) but something about the super charger whine is so nice to hear. not the fastest car off the line, quick sorta, but it will hug a turn like no other car even much newer than it. the power all comes at the top end. EDIT: I would also like to include, this car over the past years has had its issues and weird sensors going bad, BUT it has ALWAYS started first try and has never been off the road, other than needing an alignment, it drives and runs like its brand new at 160k miles. very reliable car for my dad who drives a lot for work all these years.
I have a 2006 C200 Kompressor (similar to this) in a beautiful Obsidian Black, however, the differences compared to this it is equipped with the Elegance package. I absolutely love it to bits, perfect first car to go to the shops in or cruise away to see family 3 hours down the coast. I have only ever owned a larger W140 S420 before this C; I am impressed with how it fils my requirements. I definitely will be buying another Mercedes from here on.
@a k u d a m a the car ended up having a computer module go down and I wasn't paying to fix it so I purchased a 1985 corvette for 7,000. I've learned these mercedes don't hold their value like other cars do so I bought something that does.
I own an 03’ red coupe, got it used with 23k miles in 05’. It now has about 130k miles. Been a great car, no major engine or transmission repairs. Stupid things like the cup holders and sunroof broke though.
This is one of my favorite C class models in general, I really thought they killed it with the styling it looks better than the S class of that generation, also that pearl white color, and those rims are killer, even though they’re 17s they look bigger and to this day they look very fresh
Great 👍🏼 car, my fourth cylinder had oil leakage due to sedimentary build up, was misdiagnosed by the dealership 3 times until I finally found out and had to sue them to get my money 💰 back, but the vehicle 🚗 ran great 👍🏼 with the problems for 120,000 miles. Had amazing 😉 memories with it.
I have one just like it from 05 with 98k miles and some visual modifications and haven't had any mayor issue aside from a broken window regulator everything else works good so far.
I have the same car, mine is black. I bought it used in 2007 and I still have it. I customized mine. It has Accuair suspension, a AMG body kit, and Vertini drift black wheels with a chrome lip. I also installed a Android head unit. When I connect to my phone's hot spot, it's a rolling computer. Since 2007 I replaced the alternator and battery, that's it. It has been a very reliable car, no complaints.
I had mine and still have it for 16 years. I have 240k miles on it. I spent little over 3k to maintain it and to keep it in great condition. I also applied and received a High Mileage Award. MBZ, The Best or Nothing.
This was my first Mercedes back in 2010 and I reluctantly avoided the E90 BMW but now glad I did. Got the car kinda on the cheap as it was pretty mechanically abused but paint and body was almost new. After I sorted out new motor/tranny mounts, breather hoses, new belts, transmission service and new brakes the car was the best car I ever ever owned! The braking was so strong it could pull wrinkles out of your face. Heavy solid and small enough to zip around. Drove 120k miles and sold with 185k miles when I finally got my CLS55. The only reason I didn’t keep it is because lots of people scared me on message boards about timing chain issues so I didn’t keep it as an extra car. Wish I had!
@@SgtEvarsmann I did buy it but sold it a month later when, interior lights stopped working, sunroof stopped opening, oil began to leak, and check engine came on 🥲 it only had 109k miles for $3500
@@blazingbeast54 man idk what to do 😂 the guy said it needs new front struts, it's missing fog lights and the bottom corners of the radiator are bent :/
The differences may be subtle but I think these facelifted w203s look so much fresher inside and out than the earlier model years. I also don't know why the blue tinted glass never caught on for long. I always liked it.
Summed up perfectly InTech Dude. As you say, you'll have issues with Door Handles, the Air Conditioning Stepper Motor (clicks on start for about 10 secs) you can guarantee that various bits of plastic (door handles) will crack or break. The steering wheel position lock will break one day...an easy and inexpensive fix (just fiddly). Very easy to maintain and parts are not expensive and are readily available. It is a great looking Car and a K & N Air Filter will give it a slight increase in engine note which is sexy but understated for a 4 cylinder motor. You won't win drag races in it but your won't be embarrassingly slow either...unless you drive it in Comfort Mode (can also be called Winter Mode in colder climates) !!!
I have one of those. But mine was manufactured as a transition to facelift, so it still has an old steering wheel and control panel. But it also has an M271 engine. Great car!
Just got my 2004 C Class 4 Door Classic 1.8 and its got low mileage and its so beautiful. White Just like the one in this video. Never owned a MB but so far mine is rock solid and one of my fave cars in the 30 years I have been owning vehicles.
My 05 c230 has been very reliable, i have mine pushing 278K miles and still going strong with non of the plastics broken on it and still looks great inside and out. i have done a few minor repairs though out the years but all done by me. only complaint is trade in value is only $290.00 now. cant sell it with the miles i have so im going to just keep driving it and get the most life i can out of it.
I'm at 297k right now still driving it and still running great although I don't drive it everyday since I have 2 other cars , I just installed a new suspension and tires tho, I had a customer a while back bring me a 2000 c230 for some work and he had over 350k on his.
I have a 2005 c220 cdi Chipped to 190 hp :) Its incredibly comfortable and quiet, doesnt use much fuel i think but it is agressive when it needs to be ;) Mine is still in like new condition :D
just bought an 05 C230 kompressor sport.... not sure now if I really did the right thing after watching some reviews of how they are money pits..... but your video brings me hope!
oscar Vasquez i would like to buy one .yours how many km on it in the 5 years ? and do you recommended cause most people said you do not feel with it that you are in Mercedes (not quit and stable enough) and its just like Japanese cars ...is that is correct ?
I have the exact same car 😍 Except it has power everything, folding rear seats and xenon headlights. Loooove it! (Although it makes a droney rattle noise under acceleration, haven't been able to find out why... drives perfectly fine tho)
Yeah I miss the days when you could have a sport C class with a solid chrome grill, the newer big logo grills are nice but every car on the road has them nowadays
That has to be the complete base sport model. Mine has like 3 options, one including ceramic paint but EVERYTHING is automatic. I thought mine was a base model until I saw this lol. Manual seats? No memory? Manual steering column? I'm curious of the windshield wipers are even manual... not knocking this car no review, I just thought mine was "base"... I'll stand a little straighter today :) thanks for the great review
erick martinez you need to remove the passenger side door sill trim and locate the pre wired connector. You can buy the aux connection at any mb dealership
Hmmm these are usually a tad faster than this one is accelerating. Wouldn't be surprised if the cats are on their way out since above 70k they're on borrowed time. Solid little car though.
I felt power delivery was a bit insistent. Not sure if throttle input had something to do with it or if theres a sensor somewhere thats not functioning as it should but not bad enough to throw a check engine light.
I had a C280 before and I decided to pull apart the entire intake and clean the MAF sensor, TB and some vacuum line going to the TB. Once I did that cold start was much smoother and response was far quicker.
I had a 1999 c230 that was a monster. Totalled it bought a 04 c230 for nothing. Guy didn't know how to change MAF . I did another monster..quick af monster.
My grandma used to lease a new Benz every 2 years and had a couple of these. The V6 C230 was far quicker, but the supercharger whine sounded better. The C230K she had was a lemon, constantly in the shop. But, the V6 was VERY reliable.
Tyler Beeson lol, she was lucky if it was a 2006-2007 model that served her well. It was those years where they introduced their new DOHC V6's which had tons of problems passed the 50,000 mile mark. Massive oil leaks, harmonic balancer issues, and prematurely worn crankshaft and camshaft sprocket teeth that caused the chain to jump or throw off engine timing. I refuse buying 06-07 C-Class because it's a far more difficult lottery to win ;)
Intechdude300 yeah, my family has a 2006 E350 that will inevitably have harmonic balancer issues. So far at 64k miles it's been perfect except for the transmission that shifts really rough when cold. It's sad because the car itself is absolutely amazing. Hopefully the aftermarket "warranty" will help cover the costs when the engine nukes itself like a hand grenade.
Yea, man.. I just got rid of my 05 Kompressor in April. It was tough because I loved that car, but every 6 months or so I'd have to put a couple grand into it. It just wasn't worth going broke over. Now I have a reliable Accord. Still, I loved my Kompressor....
There is an aux input, you have to replace the cd changer with the aux cable from the back of the headunit. Hold down the CDC button and there you will have aux
@@karel6018 ok, firstly you will need the order the aux adapter for the w203, you can find this on ebay. Next remove the cd player/headunit. And then at the back of the unit there is a connection for a CD changer. If you have a CD changer cable connected to the unit, you need to simply disconnect it. Then add the Aux cable where you disconnected the cd changer cable. After that test the unit by powering it on and holding down the CDC button for 3 seconds. You should see it say AUX.
@@snoozeydream9288 : Here's an instructional. Not the best video, but you'll get the idea. You'll need to get the aux cable on ebay or amazon. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jCRJmNtnrxo.html
@@snoozeydream9288 you have to buy the connecter, and then pull the panel on the outside of the glovebox off. after just drill a hole into the glovebox and poke it in, i have it in my car
Need help where to locate Neutral safety switch module on my 2005 Mbenz C230 Kompressor Will appreciate if someone could provide photos of this module Thank you
