Yes it does sound much better. Yes you will use a bit more fuel, however you get a noticeable power increase with it as well.

Sorry, i got rid of this car about 1 year ago. However, i bought a 2011 altima 3.5, and will be doing some exhaust work very soon. I will be able to get outside/inside audio.

i did the exact same set up. Still have the cat. gets loud at about 3 and a half then starts to quiet down from there. but crackles nicely after a bounce off red line

I have a nissan maxima 04, I did the exact thing, mufflet delete+main cat delete, it sounds nice to me, because if you take out the resonator it gonna drone alot, you need to put al least an aftermarket resonator if you dont wanna have all these drone

I found with the way the engine is tuned that i didn't really lose any torque, if any, it was way in the top band. Low end had a lot more performance.

how much did it cost you to take the resonator and muffler out and put straight pipes?

Your 06 altima will not have to be aircared until 2013 Jan 1st. And removing the resonator and mufflers should not affect that as they are sound dampeners only, unlike the catalytic converter which is intended to clean the exhaust.

yes, yes, and yes. it definitely gave another 10-20 horse power. but i also run 91 octane, that's 92 octane for our USA viewers.

I have an 04 Nissan Altima and i hate the way it sounds. So i cut off the Mufflers and that made it sound a little better. But the resonator deff needs to go, i just dont know what to do. in my state/county you "can not" stright pipe unless its a diesle.. so i have been thinking about cuting out the Cat before the resonator putting in a stright pipe to the Y. then putting some kinda mufflers on it with tips... CAN someone please help me deice please!

I want to do the same to my 04 maxima (resonator delete+main cat) but I worry about losing some torque, your cats still there? I want to delete the resonator and the main cat for more sound, feel a difference in torque?

in all honesty bro you could of just did the muffler delete lol i just cut my mufflers on my 2002 3.5 se and it sounds amazing i chose not to delete the resonator because it ruins the sound it makes it sound like you have loose change in a pipe and your just shaking it
