Check engine light is on, 337000 kms and still pulls a 0-100 time 0.5s within what factory claimed going UPHILL without hitting the redline in 1st. It's very hard to beat an ES9's durability.
Check engine light doesn't mean the car is broken. It can mean anything, even low oil level or the computer wasn't reset on the last service, or wasn't serviced in exact km intervals. There's a different light for a broken engine.
That has 6-speed automatic. You're driving phase 2 model which had updates to V6 since 2004: 4-speed Zf gearbox was replaced with 6-speed Aisin. Also the engine (ES9A) was updated with new VVT-system. I used to have Citroen C5 with the same V6 engine and gearbox. It had an issue with VVT-system caused by the slipping camshaft position timing wheels. That resulted miserable low-end torque: it was slow as hell below 3500 rpm and after that the power kicked in. Power band felt like driving a VTEC-Honda. That problem didn't exist in the older version of that engine (ES9J4).
This is so true. When I am asked what my favourite car or brand is , one thing iis sure it's that it is not a Ferrari , Lamborghini , Mercedes , BMW or Audi. Because , it is too easy to like them and everybody does already. There is no purpose to just be another one.
In the uk, these dropped in value by half within about 30secs of you driving from the dealer! Hence why they didnt sell very well. Bet its a comfy place to lose all yer cash though.

A kolega wie co to jest stosunek mocy do masy? I że automat też tu troszkę spowalnia ten wynik do pierwszej setki? C5 pierwszej generacji z dwulitrową benzyną i manualem waży w okolicach 1320 kg. Pug 607 z benzynową V6 i automatem jakieś 1580 netto. Ponad 200kg różnicy... Poza tym C5 z 3.0 V6 pod maską i automatem też ma w danych technicznych 9,8 do pierwszej setki i jego masa w takiej konfiguracji też przekracza półtorej tony. Pozdrawiam.

@@szalonyreworwerowiec Bardzo możliwe, że jest tak jak piszesz, że BMW E39 czy Mercedes 280 go kasuje, nie polemizuje z tym. Nie faworyzuję też Peugeota czy Citroëna. Po prostu chciałem zwrócić uwagę na fakt, i wyjaśnić skąd się bierze taka dysproporcja. Dlaczego dodanie mocy około 80 koni mechanicznych i 100nm momentu obrotowego niewiele zmieniło w kwestii przyspieszenia 0-100. Nie była to żadna próba ataku na ciebie. Miłego tygodnia życzę 🙂
