Suzanne Binet-Audet. She's amazing to hear and watch play; although, I think she's recently retired from playing professionally. So exciting to see her and Jonny together!!
Jonny is probably the most interesting figure in what we think of as the rock era. Enigmatic on stage, a genius in the studio and as a composer, totally mesmerizing in interviews. And attractive in a way that apparently a lot of us hetero guys find a bit disorienting.
once an interviewer asked jonny if he has a girlfriend, and jonny said he's not interested in women or sex (was a fun interview from thequietus website)
3:24 "Why because emm.. i think part of this it's because i cant' sing and i always wanted to be able to playing instruments with words like singing, and there is nothing closer..." This must be a Historic quote (y)
wasn't it "that works like singing"? Since he's talking about how the way the sound comes out and how it's played is similar to a voice (vibratto and all).
Jonny couldn't wait to see her play. She tries to do some small talk but Jonny's just "here's the thing. Do you mind playing so I can see how it's done?" Haha he just watched so carefully. A true musician right there
What a fucking brilliant performance at the beginning. You'll think I'm lying if I say that I cry every single time that I hear those notes that Jonny is playing there, but I'm not. That melody always brings me to tears, every single fucking time
As a singer (and an instrumentalist) I will say this: anyone can sing once they learn the techniques and more importantly learn to accept their unique vocal range and quality and accept their unique vocal limits too. I don't have a huge range (only 2 octaves) but most material I want to do falls easily within that or can be finessed a bit. So, perhaps he is too shy or doesn't like his vocal sound or can't sing like someone with a truly gifted vocal ability such as David Bowie (in terms of natural tone and amazing range not to mention his technical skill) or Tom York, etc. No matter. The idea about singing is that it is YOU and you gotta accept that you will sound like you and no one else. It is an art that represents you without any artificial interface (i.e., instruments). That is the beauty of singing! Truly unique and emotional because our voice connects directly with our soul ....while all other instruments are a step removed from our soul.
It's the mark of a great person that the person strives to improve oneself even though that dude is a big part of the band that produced many of the greatest albums of that decade.
I wish I was filthy rich and highly connected for the soul purpose of spoiling Johnny's interests and passions. They make the world so much fuller and wonderfull!
Hmm it’s so familiar to see him talk this much because he’s generally a introvert like myself, but when your put together with someone that comes off as comforting and genuine as Caroline something inside of you forgets that part of you and words just come more comfortably
lmao you are a poser you dont even listen to radiohead or dont even know the names of the members, you just kniw the two most famous song and the most famous album but you dont even listen to it you just know and listen the same 2 and only song that you know because you know only that and only those two about radiohead and literally noothing else not even the albums and the albums from which those songs are same for the most famous and you dont listen to theem
@@simorto em dude just because someone fancies Jonny it doesn't mean they're a poser? Some toxic gatekeepers like you are the reason why so many people leave the fandom.
@@OPquaver lol you are poser like her and still this type of behavior is fro poser, yall do like this to feel part of a community and compensate the fact (both you and her)of knowing nothing about radiohead or members if not top famous song and stop
His fingers playing the electronic Martenot is so so T.S.Elliot .." A pair of ragged claws scuttling across the floors of silent seas"... they are sea spiders making waves....
i think it's an unearthly combination of intelligence, patience, humility and fascination with this extraordinary man. always struck by a child-like shyness and sense of wonder which he seems to have miraculously maintained through the trials of this world. an antithetical maturity then presents itself in his ability to relate to and work so well with other people, even obviously difficult-albeit tremendously talented ones (thom). lastly, the apparent wisdom to be able to consistently intuit which pursuits are worthwhile?! hard to believe that such people still exist within advanced entropy. perhaps impossible, as a musician, or any artist, to avoid being envious. the darker part of me wonders what the inevitable dark part of him must be. how dark might be the shadow of such a brightness, how deeply flawed the yang.
