@@sloobyanthony572 Pretty direct access to the bolts (or screws, can't remember), but it's kind of an annoying reach down there on the floor looking up. Very doable though, and I'm a bigger guy.

My 06 Ridgeline is giving out as I have to smack under the glovebox to get it to start spinning. I have been holding off on getting it fixed but after watching your video I am going to swap it out this weekend!

I thought my blower motor went out but it just stopped all of a sudden should I change the lower motor resistor 1st yeah but a resistor 1st or is that a common thing that the motor goes out at all-in-one shot
@JackofAllMasterofNone
@JackofAllMasterofNone 2 года назад
Honestly it could be either one. Best thing is to unplug the harness from the motor and see if you have 12 volts with the fan switch on high. If you do, it's your motor. If you don't have 12 volts, it's the resistor or another wiring / control issue besides the motor.

The heater and defroster, as well as the fan, seemed to fail simultaneously in my 2006 Ridgeline. I suspect a blown fuse, and the owner’s manual indicates one fuse for the heater motor and one for the defroster. I have replacement fuses, but when I pulled the two installed fuses they looked OK. The owner’s manual says to check all the large fuses in the primary box, the smaller fuses in the under-hood boxes, and all the fuses in the interior box. Is this just bad writing or is there a reason to check every fuse in the vehicle? Also, are there other fuses in addition to the two I’ve pulled that could be causing the fan/heater/defroster problem?
@JackofAllMasterofNone
@JackofAllMasterofNone 2 года назад
The heater/defroster both use the same fan motor. If the blower motor resistor or motor itself go bad, nothing will work. It could be either one.

My blower motor is very noisy makes a ticking or clicking noise as it spins no debris inside and just replaced cabin air filter so it’s all clean and fresh, but other day I turned my heat on no air came out of vents and I heard no noises coming from behind the dash so I assume the blower motor was not turning on and that indicates it is bad and needs replacing.

Hello, thank you for the video. Got a replacement blower, but it's still not turning. When I turn the key in the ignition, it momentarily gives voltage the motor to barely move it and then nothing. Any idea?
@JackofAllMasterofNone
@JackofAllMasterofNone 3 года назад
Might be the blower motor resistor. Or it's the HVAC unit controller itself more likely.

Anyone know if the blower motor resistor will cause the ac clutch to not work too? Blower and clutch aren’t turning on!!??
@michaelbrown4479
@michaelbrown4479 Месяц назад
Yes
@ronperez127
@ronperez127 Месяц назад
@@michaelbrown4479thanks Mike! I learned that the resistor runs a full circuit with the ac compressor/clutch, condenser fan and blower. If the PC doesn’t see the correct resistance, it shuts it all 3 down. They are all tied together!

At minute 5:30, I put the fan on high and spun the blower motor but the fan didn't spin by itself, I plugged in the replacement blower motor temporarily and it's not spinning either. Could it be an electrical issue?
@JackofAllMasterofNone
@JackofAllMasterofNone Год назад
Could be the blower motor resistor, or the fuse. Or a control / relay issue.

Good news, after replacing the blower motor and no luck, I replaced the resistor. Now the blower motor works and I have A/C again. I also replaced the Cabin Air Filter since it also was overdue. Thanks for thie video it really helped.

Idk why im even here lol. But I always replace the motor and resistor together even if one is still technically good. I'm like f*** it, im under here anyway and i dont dont want to have to be at it again in 10 months if the other piece gives out. Definitely inspect the wireing around the resistor and motor.
