I installed steering controls and did the first sea trial of this 26' Searay with its used df300 Suzuki on a custom fabricated aluminum bracket. The customer brought it to us with the bracket and engine already installed. The boat handled really well with the outboard and reached 37 mph with a much too steep 27 pitch prop that was supplied by the owner. I like to see the 4 strokes reach 6000 rpm. With the 27p it only reached 4500 rpm which is probably well below the engines 300hp output but did surprisingly well considering the low rpm. I expect much better performance with the correct prop. I would imagine 45 + mph would be reasonable probably with a suzuki 16x20 three blade.
