REALLY good, quick troubleshooting video. I was able to eliminate everything but my neutral safety switch and my alarm with this video so I wouldn't mind if it was a minute longer showing specifically how to test the neutral safety switch. Glad you showed where it is though, I would have been looking under gear selector. I'm suspect my alarm.
@@LehewTech Thank you. I don't think I did. In fact that may be the ONLY thing I didn't try lol. It turned out to be the engine control module (the computer) which I had a shop replace in case it needed initialization or whatever. Got it running for about $300 and traded in on a 2019 AWD Hundai. Now I get more mountain biking in :)
Thank you for your video I checked the starter relay the left pin where I should have power is grounded when I checked it with my test light top and bottom pin go to the starter when I ran my jumper top to bottom starter engaged and started working so I must have a problem with my neutral safety switch
@@LehewTech I guess I've had to 2 years now and it's great. Not a single problem. I just put gas in it and once a year put synthetic oil change. Handles like a rally car on dirt trails but it's not taking me on any 4x4 trails. Got an electric mountain bike for that.
Excellent video, I have a radio that turns off and back on. I’ve researched and everyone says the same it the instrument cluster. With this video I can see the circuit from start.
Hello. I have a friend with a 2006 ford Explorer with 4.0L eng (Eddie Bauer) version. A few days ago, the guy was driving the vehicle a short ways from his home, and the engine cut off completely. There was a burning smell near starter, and starter had a burned out wire, so he replaced starter. So, now the vehicle will crank but will not start. Battery good, fuel pump working, crankshaft sensor replaced also. However, vehicle will only crank but engine won't start. Do you have any advice here for my friend?
I have a 2008 explorer. Was running fine..it sat for a month give or take. No it won't start no crank nothing ? I can hear a tap noise in the starter when I turn the key. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
great video maybe you can give me some advice i swapped relays nothing i jumped relay to starter works . i did test lite on wire from ignition it lights up but it will not crank any thoughts
I have 4 and a half volts on ignition wire on the relay and drops to less than a volt when keyed to run position, any ideas of what the issue may be? Car does start when i take battery voltage to starter side of relay. (Also put in new relay)
2008 Mercury mountaineer 4.0. Installed new battery, new alternator still next morning. Won’t start. Battery stone cold dead. Jumped it again and works fine all day. Tested voltage while running 14.6v while off 12.6v. Also cleaned all the grounds inside engine compartment. My question is would a bad ignition switch be the draw down. Sometimes you would hit a bump and the dome light would come On. Once you touch the ignition it would go off. Lol!
