Thanks for the comparison, but I think I will stick with my stock pipes for now. I like the quiet smooth sound I'm getting now. When you go long distances I think the loud pipes tire you out more. (loud sound and vibration) I had louder pipes on my VStar, but so far I choose the quieter stock pipes on my VTX 1300.
I'm 6'1" and it fits me just fine. I now have the Cobra Fatty's freeway bars and foot pegs attached to them. Now I fit great and can stretch out. I suggest getting them if your tall as it will provide needed comfort plus they look good.
Kuryakyn Universal Iso Grips, Throttle Boss, Accent Rings, and Stiletto End Caps. You can't go wrong with the setup. I love them. They bring the bike out.
I've got an '07 VTX c I cant wait to get a pair of these pipes on my bike. Now if only we could drive more then just the summer (from wisconsin as well.)
I love the sound of the stock pipes! It compliments the bike. If you ever ride 400-600 miles a wk-end like we do, I think you would be tired of the loudness and vibration. Where do you live to have that much snow? Michigan? HA That is where I was born and raised.
videos dont do exhaust sounds justice like hearing in person but I can tell the difference between these 2 and imagine the aftermarker one to sound better in person.
Thanks for the info. Ive since found a 2005 VTX1300C in mint condition with Vance Hines pipes , 10 k.. miles, for asking price of $4,000 . I think it could be had for $3600 as they really want to be rid of it . Hopefully going to close on the sale today. Im pretty excited as its a heck of a deal. No windshield though but ill get one installed. David.
I'm 6'9" and so far my vtx1300 is the only thing I enjoy riding, and the only thing beefy enough for it to not look like a scooter underneath me lol. I've had 12inch apes and drag bars on it and both are very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Dealer installed. They said alot of the 1300s accept aftermarket pipes without rejetting. It runs great. I get a little decel. pop on occasion, usually when it's not quite warmed up yet.
The sound goes out the rear. It does not bother my ears. The wind in my face is more a issue but I don't like to ride with a windshield. Can't go wrong with them. Love em!
Question for you, Looking at these pipes or other aftermarket cobras, now without the Rejetting, have you seen any hesitation, loss of power or any negatives?
Even with the single pin crank on the 1300 VTX, it's just too dam loud at 5 AM going to work. I can't imagine waking up to that every morning. I removed the baffles and that's about as far as needed to get a good deeper sound.
Good for you bros, in my country there is no moto-shop to buy anything for my HONDA VTX 1800-C I am pretty sadisfited with the stock exhaust I have now (two in one pipe) but I can shure use some changes next season (my VTX is brend new-2007), when I'll be ready I'll contact you if that is not a problem for you?
Hi is that a carb bike? i got a guy selling me that same bike for 3 grand and its only got 3,000 miles on it. I feel like ill be getting a good deal.. same color too! :D
Could you please help me ? I have the opportunity right now to buy a 2006 VTX 1800 with 12k miles on it, excellent shape, for under $8,000 . He claims he gets 40-50 mph...is this true for this bike ? ANything you can share with me would be helpful like its reliability record, etc... Thanks, Dave.
Wow, I have the same bike, same color. I drilled out my pipes cuz I couldn't afford new ones, and they sound pretty good. Definately much better than stock, but not this good.
The sound on the computer is a little decieving. It's much more of a drastic difference in person. The rumble on the stocks is not as loud in person. The video camera and computer kind of make it sound a little louder, but they are great for stockers.
I highly doubt it. My 1300 got about 40 or 42. With a bigger displacement and if he has after market pipes you would probably see in the low 30's maybe middle 30's. Thats a beast of an engine. My harley has a 1584 cc motor and I get upper 30's with after market pipes and a more free flowing air filter. I would rely more on the Honda than a Harley. VTX's are bullet proof bikes. Low maintenance. Shaft driven water cooled. Pick it up if you realy like it. Fun bike that you can do so much to.
I've definately heard much worse sounding stock exhaust in my time. That particular config. , the vtx 1300 with the speed longs is definately a match. I like 'em both. Depends on the rider I'd say.
No feelings hurt,I made my point, I understand yours but YOU responded to MY comment about this boring vid.Your feelings were obviosly hurt.I am a proud American and a Union man thats why I ride an HD.I also buy bikes to ride , Isn't that the point of owning one, You WILL eventually sell them.and for the record My friend's 05 VTX handles like it has a flat front tire-Thanks for playing
slm2500 I know this has been quite awhile since this was posted but just Incase you didn’t know they ain’t nothing hardly made in the USA anymore and hasn’t been for a long long long time and they ain’t no damn HD that’s made in the USA and that’s been that way for a long time to and if anyone doesn’t know that by now is and always will be DUMBASS but I did almost forget just about anyone that rides a HD is nothing but a damn idiot that thinks he’s a bad ass on that HD but I think a lot of is that they know just about any of the metric bikes will bust that ass
Of course the Cobra pipes sound better. For the "Stock guys" ... simply remove the baffles and you`ll get a much more attention getting rumble quite like the pipes on this video. If you want to really turn the heads get a set of Cobra Drag pipes...oh and an 1800 VTX as well...LOL
@mgulley82 shit, the guy selling me the bike is kind of avoiding me now. im kinda wondering if he even had the bike to begin with! Dammit, i dont want to spend 5 grand on the son of a bitch LOL
redirxtv - I have 40k on my 96 heritage and have only done basic maintenance and will get the same $10,000 for it when I sell it that I payed for it. Try getting more than 3 grand for a 96 honda-just stop comparing and buy a harley
A proud American and a union man, eh? Well we used to supply HD with their Nippon Seiki speedos. RedirXTV is right. They both have about the same amount of american made parts and they're both assembled in the US. And anyone who pays that much for a bike that old with that many miles is an idiot looking for a nameplate.
There's two kind of people , those who have a Harley and those who want one ...lol . keep trying for the Harley sound lol , you might fool some people and look cool
Actually , there is 3 kinds.... the third is those who have a brain and a honda. If only harley engineers had half the brain of honda engineers..... . Im just saying they are far more advanced in my opinion. For instance , the self balancing systems theyre coming out with. I think they are targeting non riders (who have no experience and wont fall with this system) which would be smart from a marketing point of view. Sound isnt everything buddy. There are sounds that harley cant dupicate too by the way (like my cbr 1000 with 2 bros system ). Its loud as hell, and in my opinion sounds sweet! Lets see a vrod pull up next to me. There are other sounds that they cant touch too like the akro systems. A few harleys were across from me at the light and revving their bikes one night . Then , I revved mine and they were shocked. I also have a vtx 1300. i love the sound of the harleys too. i rode a softail with a screaming eagle that my ex had. youre probably one of those guys that will put another biker down if he/she doesnt ride a harley. I ride with all kinds. my friend that i work with just bought a $30k road glide and we ride with anybody
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sounds JUST like a harley.........exactley. you couldve spent the money toward a harley and gotten what you paid for it when you sell it
