Awesome Gen2 Marc, really appreciatie what you have done with her. I also have a Gen2 and her the first owner with low mileage. Through the years lot of modifications and keep him next to my other Kawa's. Also thought about selling him, but the costs of all the modifications and the love i have for this 'spartan' bike, decided me to keep her.
I own a 2006 Zx10R and a 2003 Rc51…. How do they compare to each other for you. I love them both and they have totally different characters…. Would love for you to do a video highlighting the differences in each riding experience… Thank you. Be well; ride safe.
Finding a clean unmolested zx10r is easily accessible. Shop around find a low mile bike, depending on what gen you want 10k would get you a decent bike with enough left to put some good mods on it. I'd actually reccomend 3rd gens as they are not very popular and great bikes, and a value. RC51s are going through the roof price wise, 10k would get you a nice one though, but....parts availability is becoming a real issue. Only 05-06 bodywork is available and a lot of the aftermarket parts that are desirable is not being made anymore. But if you have investment in mind, RC51s are the better choice, just about 4 years ago was the time to get in, now prices have close to doubled for low mile clean bikes
@@marcjorgensen haven't been able to find any clean and unmolested Gen. 1 ZX10R's. I have found plenty of frames in good shape though. I think my next project is another Gen. 1 with maximum weight reduction but, it will be still in street trim
I think they were around 3500 back when new, but they are long since discontinued, you can find them every now and then in the used market, but expect to pay more than 3500 more than likely
