Guys thank you both so much, this video helped me remove my t. Case I couldn’t believe how easy it was to remove the shifter and here i was ready to remove the entire center console haha
So I made it a little harder on myself than I needed, you should remove the shifter out of the top before you try to separate the transfer case from the transmission. I had some tension on it but after I got the clip out of the shifter base then it comes straight up after I pushed the units back together for a sec. Do it before you separate the two from each other and it is much easier than when you forget and everything hangs up on it like it did.
I didn't, and it wasn't bad. I tore it down because its a likely failure point, and I could not get our pop to happen often enough to get good diag done. Research said lots if people replace transfer case. The root cause of the popping was an ebrake shoe backed all the way off bouncing into to drum and momentarily locking brake up.
@@paulscott500 Oh, a little is. You can see in the assembly video I run it through its motions and turn it all to compare maybe. Make sure the nuts are tight, if they are loose it can get the splines on the yoke and shaft quickly. Hope that helps, at least I got some fresh rubber seals everywhere and you all get some shots of it all right.
