Good camera quality, good viewing, great showcase and review! I got myself one, it’s comfortable to ride, looks like I can run over all the other kids bikes, and is a motorcycle with pedals. I’m afraid of chain rust however.
Thanks appreciate the feedback. Its definitely a heavy well built bike....Your fear of chain rust is definitely warranted.....THERES ALOT OF CHAIN and even with the chain guard regular careful light grease keeps it pretty well rust free. My Son still rides it nearly every day to school etc so it is $$ well spent. Love the subculture who soup these up with engines and mufflers.
I still got my schwinn stingray bike. Had it since 2005 and here it is 2020 and I still got it. Heavy well made yes, but a pretty rough ride when hitting bumps so this bike isn't made for doing tricks. mainly made for crusing. Its still fun.
Yes its definitely not for jumping ramps like I did back in the early 70's!! Definitely a cruiser and headturner!! Even though My son is a bit tall for it now ...He still takes it out. I actually just replaced the rear tire and tube after wearing down the old one so much a piece of glass punctured the old one. Yes Keep that Bike!!
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus I have people look at me really confused cause I am 6ft riding a bike that size. They do heckle me a lot while condoning bad profanity at me as they drive away quickly to keep from getting caught. But at the same time, other people amazed to see a bike so designed like a chopper by orange county chopper's sponsor work with Schwinn. Hard to believe I have this bike for 15 years and still present.
I have a vintage Orange County Chopper red with chrome and installed an 80cc motor kit and it rides and looks beautiful. I call it my Mona Lisa that I kept because I motorized 10 more and sold them for collection and display purposes and oh yes they run perfectly.
Yes indeed Katherine!! It has served my Son well. And now that He has gone thru a huge growth spurt.... He no longer fits his legs. So It needed a new Rear tire....I replaced it and We will save it for hopefully a Future Grandchild!!
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus that brought tears to my eyes.. when I was a kid back in the 70's all the kids in the neighborhood would line up in a line on the road, on dirt and gravel and one by one we would see who could skid the farthest..then we would jump our bikes and after all that is said and done we would fine the nearest wild black berry bush and eat them..great fun..would love to relieve those days.. I had a bike that was Huffy's version but man my little pink machine could skid and jump like no body's business.
Just bought one of these fir my son hes 7 but its in pretty decent shape definitely needs some TLC cant wait to work on it with him 👍🏽 and enjoy the bike
I had one just like this I bought brand new, but it got stolen a while back (2008). Looking good. They were a bit heavy and limited with just one speed. I also got a mini version of this in blue for my son. Since then I got a better 3 speed chopper bike sort of like this from Electra Bikes.
I just got one for free! Man cleaning out his garage put in on the curb along with a factory Harley style mini bike chopper! I was looking on line to get an idea of their value. It's very nice condition. Little wear.
I have one that I usually ride every single day as I use it as a daily driver for riding a bike to work or whatever thus I welded a rear rack on the back of mine and I had to use a narrow wheel for the back because that was the only well I had when the rear wheel of mine exploded
I bought one today, but the wheels are ripped up, and so is the seat, do you know any where online where i can get replacements for somewhat cheap? Im not looking for original parts i just need something that works so i can use the bike
Absolutely!!! www.pedalchopper.com/bicycle-parts-accessories/tires/ I rebuilt my Chopper with so many new parts years ago. Also try Ebay...you can get practically anything new or like new
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus thanks, I replaced my front wheel with one from my other bike, polished and got rid of most of the rust just gotta get a new back wheel, but I'm going to try and fix it tomorrow
Hi Oliver...the person that made them up no longer has an Ebay listing. Looking at these They look as though they can be fairly easy for a metal fabricator to make. Blocks of Aluminum....
Hey I’m looking into converting one of these electric for an adult, you think with the handle bar extensions I would be fine? Thank you for your video! Lol I can tell your son loves you brooooo!
www.pedalchopper.com/bicycle-parts-accessories/tires/ Absolutely....here is a link to a parts supplier...they may have kits....or perhaps may be able to assist you better. Thanks for watching and the kind words!!
We never got to the that point of customization ...I did rebuild her with needed stock parts...Amazed at the Engines and how Bad Ass they look fully blown . Although my son is 18 We still have it in our shed but sadly not ridden.
I just bought one of these for $200 in red but I don’t know whether I should keep it for it to raise in value or should I just sell it for like $600. What do you think?
Honestly unless its a new in box, special edition its unlikely you can make that much of a profit ....but they are schwinn....and special editions in their own right. May be valuable down the line as older bikes are likely to be used & abused. But these were built to last. They are Tanks!! Lol
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus Sorry I didn’t specify it’s a motorized bike with an 80cc got a great deal on it. I think I should be able to get around $600 for it
It has the standard rear Handbrake - two pads on either side of rim. No front brake although I've seen some with them ...but basically when your riding and pedal backwards...the crank just spins backwards like most 10 speed bikes.
Hey Lee...Heres a good place to start.....If they don't sell engines I'm sure they can " Chopper steer" you in the right direction!! Im sorry couldn't resist. www.pedalchopper.com/bicycle-parts-accessories/tires/
Who young? Anything really. I own one, it’s a tank. No suspension may or may not make you jump a little off the seat during a bump but the bike itself tanks all
They still make these bikes, they dont sell them here and they dont say OCC. All of these bikes were made in China by Pacific Cycle. The ones they sell today dont have Schwinn decals. I think I saw one on Alibaba that had the name Atomic on it.
My guess is that since they were made in China, that it became a free for all as China does not care about rights, trademarks…ect. But I dont think any are available here…. Except alibaba… says I can buy them… in bulk. While searching for parts and misc pieces I have seen these under other names too, so I am wondering if Pacific( the actual company who produced these bikes) is simply slapping names of other companies they own on them and selling them.
Probably not a lot.....unless its a special color... Best bet is to research Ebay of choppers that are rusty. Probably worth more parting certain things out that maybe are restoraable
You really need to find one & try it...but I think yes....you would probably need at Best handlebar risers if u can locate them. It is a heavy, low rider!!
Its definitely worth it. They are very cool bikes and well made. My Son rode the wheels off this one. He is too tall for it now. But I recently replaced the rear tire and tube Anyway. I know of a good parts supplier if needed....besides Ebay of course!!!
@@noellehiggins3898 Lol!! So much for Spell check!! Lol At least We know that Artificial Intelligence still has a waaays to go if they're going to take over the World!! Lol
