Good job young man. In today’s world where most kids your age are inside the house gaming. You’re making it happen with wrenches and learning. The lessons you learn today, will last you a lifetime and help you fix your own stuff without having to pay someone to do everything for you. You didn’t need to cut the end off the throttle cable. Just needed to use a cut off wheel and cut a slit in the bracket, slide the cable in and the barrel at the end locks up to the bracket. No brass stops needed. Definitely need to change the gearing. Simple sprocket change should do it. Also might want to incorporate a chain tensioner gear on the swing arm area of the frame. This will carry the chain and keep it off the frame.
Lol I game and so do most people and have for years. Doesn't mean I don't mess around outside. I started fabricating, welding and building motors very young regardless of gaming or not.
With those type of engines I use a 2 stroke clutch cable as a throttle cable. They don't have a little ball at the end that needs to be cut off. So you don't have to deal with The Frayed Ends.
It seems like its geared a bit tall if you get a clutch with a smaller sprocket, get a bigger sprocket for the rear wheel or do both it should pull harder
Just bought myself one of these yesterday. Sounds amazing with a high flow straight pipe. You'll need to open ip the stock exhaust port to fit one but it make them deep toned.
@@4890ification what motor did he buy for this bike? i have a chopper just like this one. i wanted to make sure i buy the right one. you’re advice would help.
I just found a stingray chopper a lady is selling for 60 bucks I'm taking my bbr 80cc tuning off and mounted onto the chopper this is going to be fun fun little projects
Good job. Motorizing a bicycle is an up hill climb all the way. Lots of grinding and twisting, but it can be done. Built 11 choppers with the 80cc kit. It got easier after each build. Mmmm... you can install foot rests on the forks. Good luck
What you need is a Torque Converter kit. You bolt up a common shaft system with the old friction clutch then replace the friction clutch with the torque converter system and it will ride like a high speed snowmobile. I had one and it really go's a lot faster than a friction clutch does. It will also allow you off road performance and dirt riding is unbelievable just don't get dirt in the back pulley or you have to replace the sliders.
That's false clutch is actually capable of much higher rpms and top speed. Torq converter is only good for low end power and if you want to do wheelies. Not good for speed
A friction clutch, in fact, does need more gear reduction than he's got, but it is capable of much higher speeds. I tried a torque converter on my build, and it didn't go faster than 30mph. My friction clutch gets me 40mph or more.
I cut the seat post tube out and used 212. Used old 1 inch riser mountain bike handlebars for foot pegs. Had a 79 on my 20inch wheel adult trike bike, but slow takeoff. Even with 60 tooth rear sprocket
for the frame you wanna sand it down to its base coat and then spray your primer 2 coats to be safe and after that whatever color you want will go on 2-3 coats and you should be good of rust and chipping im making the same bike now clutch 125cc manual 4 gears up
There's a chemical treatment that i prep bare metal surfaces with when I work on car panels. It's called metal dioxidizer, once applied to a bare metal surface, it makes it turn blue in colour hence protecting from exposure to moisture and the elements. New replacement and rust repair panels for cars also come from the manufacturer with this treatment applied to the surfaces... I swear by it as I apply the deoxidizer even before the primer as a second layer of protection... try it.
make sure the frame is clean and dry use an acetone based cleaner so it cleans oil off and drys fast wear rubber gloves apply a primer coat i belive some primers come in clear than apply 2-3 coats of clear
Rhino liner!!! Would be dope I’m actually getting ready to start the same project with my stingray always wanted to but now they have so much more just you think it and you can find it online usually
Chain tensioner. Your chain routing was under the frame instead of above the lower frame rail. You should have use a cvt transmission, that rear wheel is heavy. You will eventually have to find a rear sprocket adapter or jackshaft kit. I just finished an identical build.
You might wont to cover that hole in the frame by the motor before rust set inside the pipe. Rain can also cause more rust if it gets inside. And for rust problem, clean all rust off then spray latex oil base paint on it.
@@jacobmccann9871 can you please possiblity make one of these with a cision v twin pan head Harley Davidson style model 9cc engine to actually run this bike I think it be epic and awesome to see one to actually looking and sound like a true Harley Davidson
Stick a pair of old 1 Inch rise huffy mountain bike handlebars through that hole for foot pegs & duct tape em. Honestly I had to switch my motor out to a 212. My 79cc went like 30 but it took forever. With the 212 it does 50. Right quick
Your Clutch is placed backwards you would need to kick that engine out more so you can flip that clutch the right way also think about upgrading the clutch spring so you can pick up that engagement also if you stick with that centrifugal clutch then I would up the rear sprocket/ final drive sprocket start around 50-60 tooth ,or you could just upgrade and go to a torque Converter like most of our builds. Other than that, good job, you have done excellent. your mind has good problem solving skills.
Did you use interior clear coat, or did you clear over the surface rust before it was visible to the eye. Use a small "ell" bracket with a twist in it for orientation of cable to where you need it. The bicycle shop sells the little cable end that crimps on end of cable, I bought 25 of them for $4 dollars You need a chain tensioner of some sort, I've seen numerous styles for the chopper. Try the exhaust adapter and the 2 stroke pipe you can get at gasbike.com. Also you seem to need gov. bypass or delete. Your clutch is fine. I am impressed you got it going and it runs, well done, just work out the bugs and you'll have a fun bike.
beau brummel I wire brushed frame clean no rust visible then whipped it with alcohol, then applied clear coat.. might need to do it again and buy a better clear coat.. I just ordered a chain tensioner need to figure out how and where to mount. I’m thinking the governor definitely needs to be removed bike wanted to move but takes a little to get it rolling. I think with right chain adjustments, gov. Removal and exhaust it should be good. Thanks for watching !
@@jacobmccann9871 Sounds good, work out your bugs with some sound engineering and you'll have a great bike. You remind me of me at your age, keep posting your videos, you might be surprised that it inspires some to get creative.
To do bare stell you'll want to clean the metal with a dioxidizer before you prime and clear coat it.. I wanted to do bare steel on mine till I realized how much work goes into it
@@jacobmccann9871 another big thing is you need almost no humidity around the bike while it's in the clear coating process and a shed wasn't gonna work for me thats another reason I didn't do it
Not exactly positive but if I were in your shoes I would try; New handle bars, thicker front tire, make sure your wheel is true, make sure all bolts are tight.
Muriatic acid based with some different oils added i know linseed oil works good to maintain the finish i use penetrol to stop the rust and it usually soaks right into the metal and impregnates it for a few years with one treatment i use linseed after washing.
My rear sprocket wasn’t perfectly aligned, on top of small sprocket and centrifugal clutch. In my last video I installed a 48 tooth sprocket and torque converter. In hopes to fix this problem. Thanks for watching
St. Paul MN not sure about the manual clutch.. but I would definitely get a torque converter kit that’s belt driven the centrifugal clutch in my opinion wasn’t the best but good for the price
@@jacobmccann9871 I'm doing an identical build with a 79cc predator. I ordered one of these www.gasbike.net/products/79cc-transmission-for-predator-engine-4-stroke?list_generator=order_line_item&user_id=33212491&context=order_first_order_summary_line_item
*GRANDPA WANTS ME TO TELL YOU* That the bike needs a set of Ape Hangers and springer forks once you get the paint and performance issues worked out. Grandpa was impressed with your work kiddo, that means more than you know. Grandpa is old, salty, and battle scarred and isn't impressed easily. He say you remind him when he was tinkering with old Indian and HOG pieces and parts way back in the day.
Why don't someone build one of these with a fully working cision v twin pan head Harley Davidson engine for this with a working 5 speed transmission for it all belt drive
yo good video. i have a chopper bike just like this. but i don’t know where to buy the best motor so that it will fit this bike good. also i wanted to know how i can put the motor on without taking pedals off. iv seen people with motors still have there pedals on. would be great to get advice. i would email you but i don’t know you’re email
@@antoniocovington9455 good stuff. i don’t wanna buy the one hes got because it looks like it goes slow. but i want to make sure i buy the one that fits the chopper bike. do you have a link for amazon? and honestly it would be great if you could recommend me a place to go to to get this set up. im gonna fiddle around with it at first but i want to go somewhere that does it right
@@raizen_maziku I just bought a “ 80cc motorized bike kit” from eBay tbh. It was my first build so I just watched vids and winged it. It’s not hard to do alone, with simple tools and some time. It went around 35mph.
@@antoniocovington9455 thanks bro. i will look for it. not really you’re problem but my bike seat will not go all the way down. like the bike seat in this video. my chopper bike will not go all the way down. and im trying to figure out a way to put it on there without getting rid of the pedals
