Got the cab swap almost done. The interior is getting installed and the wiring harness is about to be sent off for the humvee! #hmmwv #humvee #duramax #diesel #h1 #silverado Music: Epidemic sound
It maybe a lot of work, money and time invested in projects like this but when it's all done and you step back and look at what you have accomplished it's all worth it. Also when building a project with family and friends it makes it more enjoyable.
@@SplitBuilds My first cordless was a Dewalt 12v and when the batteries died I rigged up an R/C Lithium 14.4 pack. I like Milwaukee tools, the rapid charger should come with all the tools. When I bought my drill set the charger took forever. My friend bought the first Gen impact and I was amazed with the torque back then for a cordless. I bought one and it had the rapid charger, game changer.
The trick to getting out the wrinkles is a hair dryer. Add heat to the wrinkled area and smooth with your hands, you might need gloves if the cover is too hot. Be careful not to overheat the cover. As for my question last week for the VIN, I had a '72 challenger back in the late '70's. The dash was cracked real bad in several places. Went junk yard hunting and bought a decent dash. VIN was attached to the dash with a couple of pop rivets. Drilled them out on both dashes and swapped VIN plate. Could not tell any difference and NO fraud was committed by state law. Even informed the buyer of the swap when I sold the car, they had no issues with it either.
You're like a superhero! I never would have attempted or even thought this could be done. You're so fearless and inspirational. How are you enjoying your new interior? Carpet cleaned up nicely. Is the smoke odor gone? What did you end up doing with the donor truck? Great, great job. My friend wants to do his now.
I absolutely love the interior and the whole truck in general! It drives amazing, zero issues with check engine lights etc. it was a very good swapping I already had the parts because I’m building the humvee. In the long run well worth it! The interior looks brand new. It took a month or two but all the smell and odor is gone from the truck! I didn’t think it would turn out as well as it did! I ended up scrapping the last bit of the donor truck after selling most parts, I actually ended up Doing this basically for free because I sold most of the parts that I didn’t need
I don’t know I think I would’ve just kept a clean title cab on the truck and maybe just cut off the roof skin and swap the roof skins and then that way I can keep that truck as a clean title even if it does have 400 K but obviously you like it that way so that’s all that matters
