Ended up the local shop sent me shocks with the wrong size shaft. I needed extended travel, and they were for a different setup. Only found out after reinstalling the factory Bilsteins. The noise went away, and I knew it had something to do with the shocks.
Axle shafts have play and clunk up and down almost a quarter inch. One fix is Teflon bronze coated slip ins that replace the needle bearings inside diff. Still didn’t fix problem tho just helped it and definitely softened the metal on metal clunk.
Probably your CV joint. It wasn't my concern at the time of this video, but it has since been replaced. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mfI1agKret0.html
Hey, I know this is an older video but I'm actually experiencing the same thing with my tacoma. Installed an ICON stage 4 kit on my truck and I'm getting the same clunking noise. How did you go about figuring out what the noise was? Or did you contact King and talk to them about it? Any help would be great! Thanks!
It's the lower control arm bushings. I had the stage 4 icon kit in my truck. It's because you need to replace the lower control arms too when putting that lift in and it doesn't come with them. It's to much force pushing out at the top with out pushing the bottom out at the same time. It ends up pushing down and out on the lower control arms making the bushing shape like an egg over time.
You can see his CV joint moving strangely, I would start there. @The304krew They look like new lower control arm cams, so it leads me to believe that he has already replaced the bushings too.
The304krew I may be experiencing this exact issue. I put in the Icon Stage 4 kits months ago. But only noticed a clunk on a hard left or right turn on an angled street for example. I never replaced the LCAs or their bushings. To clarify replacing the bushings or the entire LCA is recommended with that Icon kit?
I hearing a similar noise. And it feels tight. Like it’s gonna snap something. I have a rear wheel drive prerunner with 4whhel drive lock button. Know what it might be?
I got the same noise from a stock 2020 trd offroad it’s driving me nuts and they told me to wash the fucking mud off my exhaust the rest of the car has no mud on it..
