Yeah, I don't think you guys understand just how debilitating leg kicks can be and how dangerous they can be. At least these two guys were kicking at the right spot and never hitting the knee or rite above the knee.. I would say just like power slap this is okay if you plan on never competing. If not, you're just chipping away at yourself in a hurry.
@GrumpyDuckJB lol bro are you dumb? I'm not talking about checking at all, clearly they're both checking the kicks, tensing and leaning into them. I'm talking about 0 hesitation in their face or movement, neither one winced at the pain or flinched at the incoming kicks, just back and forth til one gave up.
@@hudboys8120he was 100% rollin with the kicks lol. We always roll with them to reduce pain, and damage. It stops it from hitting the exact muscle they’re kicking. It’s the difference between getting hit with something solid to getting hit with something that has give
No,kickboxer barely kicks hard, but the old school karate method carry’s precision behind their kicks, more force and stability, even the speed is faster and technique is more disciplined, the kickboxer is just another typical mma fighter, karate and Muay Thai are mad conditioned for brutal combat
The kickboxer blew nastier kicks but the karate guy learnt how to handle the situation in a more resilient and wiser manner. Massive respect to both of them.
That is the impression you can get from the speed of the kickboxer's kick and the sound it makes. But if you watch closer, the karate guy puts a lot more weight into his kicks than his opponent, that's why he won.
I remember getting into a fight with someone and we did the exact same thing ... he finally raised his hand and allowed me to order first at Mcdonalds..
You can see the kickboxer relies on a whip-like mechanic to deliver his kick, while the karateka torques his hips on impact putting a whole lot more mass under that kick. He hurt the kickboxer in the end with his technique, not just cause he could take the pain longer
@lul.t.6831 not only that but watch the timing of the leg bump on defense. Karate is last second which maximizes his recoil. Kick boxer holds his leg out there for it look
Daniel san, was in the zone. Focussing only on the target, he welcomed each blow. Kickbox kid, was mentally not there. Expecting victory after the first few kicks, he had given up when it didnt come. Watching his opponents face to see no reaction, broke him quickly. Both men have more balls than brains. Definitely wont be sleeping that off.
Yes kyokushin Karate guys beat the hell outta each other and spar constantly. Conditioning for years this ain't no local Karate schools around America even tho I hold a Black belt Shotokan Karate sparing with kyokushin guys is a different level of toughness plus it takes longer to get you Black belt in kyokushinkai
I've sparred with Kyokushin karatekas, and their tolerance to pain and absorption of strikes is truly demoralizing. You deliver your best strikes, and they remain unfazed. I advise any martial artist to train in Kyokushin, even for a short time, and take the best pages from their book. Your body conditioning and mental toughness will skyrocket!
@@nicolasspencer8119 you can see how the karate guy leans in the kick so the other one cant go full power with his kicks. That should have some effect too no? Maybe i watch to much anime
People don't understand how incredibly painful a single kick with 100% intensity is. You have to truly experience it to understand this type of pain. It feels like someone broke your bone. It's insane that these two kept a straight face and kept going this long.
I always found that if it his me more in the mid thigh I was ok, I could grit my teeth and the pain would eventually subside… but if I got caught just above the knee like a couple of inches above it was game over for me!
Factssss I have been kicked like this by a professional boxer, and at contact it wasn't bad but maybe a couple seconds later I was limping badddd hurt for a solid week or two
Respect to the Karate practitioner for keeping it honest because the kickboxer wasn't. The kickboxer let a few of those kicks go off full blast to the side of the knee which could cause SIGNIFICANTLY more damage than to the side of the thigh where the karate guy kept his strikes directed.
I'm pretty sure the kickboxer wasn't intentionally doing that. You cause maximum damage hitting the thinnest portion of muscle above the knee. But when getting kicked like that repeatedly. I promise your form will get compromised so you're less accurate
@@shanehowe4850 yet the karate practitioner who was not only receiving the same amount and same ferocity of kicks and was the one on the receiving end of those OBVIOUS knee strikes, managed to keep his accuracy and power level. Btw, the side of the knee is the most vulnerable to injury
@luisquinones7822 Different technique. karateka lifted knee first and snaps leg, muay thai guy lifts thigh and slams his weight into the leg. Either he gave up as a sign of respect cause the musy thai kicks were a lot more powerful, or the karateka did kyokyshin and just has a better pain tolerance
Faux !
I knew since first second the karate guy is going to win. The karate (specifically kyokushin) are built and trained to endure pain long term, while the kickboxing guys are built to try to K.O the opponent as quick as possible. Totally different build.
Yeah, kickboxer was kinda of cheating as he kept moving when being kicked, in that he moved into the kick to reduce the opponent power and have the kick land higher on his thigh.
@JordanRaider888 I think he knew it well, but his pride an confidence said he can take the kicks better. Looks like a normal kyokoshin training, all they do is eat shots and never block a dam thing.
The slow mo was actually the breaking point for the kickboxer you can see the check give as it missed timed. Karate had some good checks which left the kickboxer open for quick rebuttal which lead to unanticipated miss checks. Karate doesn’t have a tell in his strike either which lead to easier checks for the Karate man. When the slow mo took effect you can see the kick snaps into the leg and stays there meaning kickboxer had his check miss or he took the blow straight on.
Watch the hands bouncing with the kickboxer if you don’t believe the tell. They stop just before he delivers the kick. Which allows the karate man to time his checks perfectly. Karate slips into his kicks better even with the hands bouncing and doesn’t bounce at other times as well. Switching up his reads.
