I bought a new 2007 S model back in 2007. Black on Black 5-Speed manual. Still have it today as my daily driver. 140k miles. Just make sure you change the oil every 5k and it will be fine.
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS six speed manual and I love it not the best condition the car you’re reviewing though. And that’s the first car I learn to drive stick well I’m still learning, though.
Little tip about sticks since your new. Always go through gears before you're ready to drive, especially when it's the first start of the day. 1 and 2, 3 and 4, then back to 1 or R depending on which way you're going. This will help the car go into the gear smoother, sometimes they don't want to in the gear and it might grind. Also, if the battery is dead you can push start it, start pushing the dead car then put it in 3rd and let off the clutch. These tips are for all Sticks. Sticks I've owned in order. 78 mg midget. 76 trans am. 80 plymouth champ. 82 dodge colt. 90 mazda 323. 92 chevy cavalier. 95 toyota camry. 07 toyota corolla, still have this one.
These cars, the hub caps constantly fall off, (you need to replace with aftermarket), steering wheels do decompose, compartment doors on dash constantly break, even without being abused.
I told the dealer I wanted black on black and he said then I'd have to get the Corolla S, the others were not offered in that combination. So that's what I bought back new in 07. Still have it today as my daily driver.
Sad they used Corolla’s at demolition derbies, and truthfully what is fun about watching fine cars being destroyed. The cars they should use are the German cars. After a few years, Mercedes and BMW, and Audi are so impractical to maintain, they are the most over rated cars.
Judging by your comment You probably never even owned a German car. I love Toyota but saying German cars are “overrated” and unreliable is just not true, routine maintenance may be pricey but if you can actually afford it German cars will run forever. Now American cars however those are real overrated junk
