Thank you very much for posting this video. I really wanted to know what the valves do during engine operation and from research as well as my current knowledge I already assumed they do this exact thing already. Great to see it in action though! At least I know I can gain that low - mid rpm throttle response and gain the mid power a bit (seen proven dyno sheets of increase power mid-high and no low end loss and extreme increase in throttle response) I have heard a few reports of worse fuel economy because the ecu uses them to alter air velocity into the cylinders. This can affect part throttle ride ability but who cares its made to go fast. Taking the restrictions off myself.
Need help real quick, i need to test spark plug caps but im still a newbie and here i see youve got them numbered. Whats the sequence from left to right, I thought it was 1,2,3,4, please i need a little guidance
There arnt spark plug caps they are ignition coils . And there's isn't a order to them exactly for they could go into any cylinder. It's not like they are specialized to only fit in one cylinder but you definitely need them plugged in the correct order
I keep reading that you can't unplug the subthrottle sensor but there's a debate on the 05 vs 06 apparently if the subthrottle sensor is bad in the 06 you just buy a new sensor where in the the 05 you have to get new throttle bodies, can you confirm?
05 and 06 are the same exact bike and use the same parts. Usually whenever someone has subthrottle issues, they will just swap the whole assembly for a used one off ebay. Maybe some people have replaced the sensor, but thats rare since the whole subthrottle assembly can be had for about 30 bucks. But u should be able to swap the sensor on both 05 and 06 if u really wanted to. Like I said, theyre the same exact bike. This is Scorpi0 btw.
How did you start it without the fuel pump or tank? I’m in a predicament where the tank is rusted and fuel pump I assume is bad. I just want to see if I can start it for 3-4 seconds.
I had it sitting on a chair next to the bike. I just used a regular fuel hose I had laying around to connect the fuel tank to the bike. I ziptied the hose on both ends so it wouldnt pop off from the fuel pressure.
Im assuming youre talking about your subthrottle assembly. Is the bike throwing a FI code 62? The subthrottle valves are controlled by the ECU. And in almost all the cases Ive seen, its usually a bad Subthrottle Assy actuator or position sensor. Easiest way to fix it is replacing it with a used subthrottle assembly off ebay. Some people also just remove the subthrottle assembly completely, but this will most likely turn on your FI light.
My 2nd blades seem to close and bit before they start to open with throttle and sit 75 percent open at idle. What do you think is causing that? No codes
I dont think cleaning will fix it. Usually its the mechanism that gives a problem. Easiest option is to replace the throttle body with a used one for cheap off ebay.
