I remember being on edge when I first watched this game...lol Bama was playing so GREAT then they just got tired all of sudden. One of my favorite games of all time and this is probably the LOUDEST BAMA game I've heard so far lol RTR
I’ll never forget the pass to Cadell at the end. My brother in law, a Tuscaloosa cop at the time, called me the next day to tell me “that place came unglued when he made that catch”.
Bryant Denny was rocking that night. I remember leaving the game coming out of the stadium, the 90k people exiting at the same time chanting “roll tide roll tide” as if the stadium had a echoing voice of its own and my dad turned me to and said welcome to the Saban era!
That has to be one of the loudest home games for Alabama in the history. I watched this at home and you could barely hear the TV commentators. When Caddell caught that td pass Bryant denny stadium erupted probably caused an earthquake. Rtr.
This Arkansas team went 8-5 despite having Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis. Big underachievement by Houston Nutt, who seemed to start strong but get progressively worse everywhere he went.
To think we were underdogs that year probably cause we lost the year prior to date the last time they beat us 2006!!! Roll Tide!!! Crazy to think when Arkansas last beat us that the iPhone wasn’t invented until the next year 2007. Same with Tennessee I hope we beat them both on the road next year in 2022.
He still looks good for 70. Even back then he was 55 looked late 20’s to 30’s with all his head of hair and now at 70 he looks mid late 50’s to 60’s. He is still running laps against coaches young enough be his sons. I hope he coaches another decade at least we have him until 2028-2029 Roll Tide!!!
