You got what you paid for. It's not working correctly. It should turn off at ANY time. It should turn on at most any speed but, won't activate until about 20 mph, I believe. The 'Cruise' light should go off when you turn it off. This video was a great help to those needing to know how to replace CC Switch!
Thanks for the video ...I didn't replace my switch ...but used you video to see how to get my switch out and then took apart my original switch and there's a copper piece in the switch that contacts some metal slides that got moved some how anyways reinstall the copper peice and shes good to go👍
I cannot tell you what a blessing this video is. I have a 2010 Tacoma. Bought it used. Same exact issue. Followed every step in your video and it took me under 30 minutes. Boom. Thank you !!!
Great Success! I watched your video, ordered my Ebay switch, and in about 10 minutes my cruise control switch was replaced. Best of all, it Works!!! I want to thank you for posting this video as it has not only helped me, but looks to have helped others. Thank you good sir!
Good video! Thank you. BTW, if I unhook my battery for anything, after reconnecting, the truck runs rough for a few minutes, but then smooths out. Must be in the program
My 2008 has the same issue. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and I have the exact same problem. Do you also have dim lighting inside the stereo and info monitor? I can't see them during the day at all - yes, I turned the adjuster to full bright.
Just replaced mine on my 2008 Tundra with this video.. for some reason a t40 worked better for me. Haven't tested it out yet, but thanks for the video! Bought my replacement on Amazon for 16.
Most of the time the switch is not the problem. It is in the steering wheel assembly called the clock spring. also that wire can be bad. The next time it acts up turn the wheel back and forth a couple times and try it again.
Love your commentary. Thank you for posting! Update 1-13-21 Bought a new OEM cruise switch, install went super easy but still not working. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a 2008 Tundra. Thank you
behind steering wheel, have to pull the wheel to do it but total job takes 15-20 minutes just buy a $20 wheel puller on ebay before you do it. also mark where wheel is with a sharpie before you pull it off lol, i didnt and had to repull it 3 times to get it on straight
Hey thanks for the video. I just snapped the stalk of my cruise control arm after a 1600 mi trip on a new trick. Glad to see it’s a simple swap before I order the part!
Thanks for posting this video, about to install mine. The cruise control stalk on my tundra seems to be sticking like something was spilled in it or something but idk
Nice video. When it comes to car parts online there is a happy medium between brand new OEM and cheap Chinese crap. Get a nice junk part off Ebay. You get the price of cheap Chinese but it's OEM and (for me so far) the part is in much better condition than the one it was replacing. As for this latest part I don't think they ever used the cruise control because it's got more "click" than my old part. Basically bran new OEM for the price of a crap part.
