I love my 2012 Tundra.. it's the first non GM truck that I've ever owned and it is light years ahead of the 2008 GMC Sierra I had before!

I am looking for one. I can't believe it has the same trans as my Lexus GS. Same part #. The suffix is different because the GS has an AWD all time planetary TC. I read though the bed mounts rust.

That truck is identical to mine. When I was test driving it the salesman told me to push a certain button and when I saw that big beautiful back window open I did a u-turn and headed back to the dealership to write the check. It's the coolest thing I've ever seen and I get a lot of red light shout outs from others that think it's cool as well. In the middle of a Florida August summer day it's 120 inside the truck until you open all five windows and back up. Instant blow out. instant coolness.

I just bought a used 2011 Toyota Tundra. RDT This truck feels American. I keep thinking I'm in a Ford. The hp is too high for a kid. I bought this truck for my kid. I didn't test drive it because friends and family owns the dealership which notified me of this car, but I don't think I felt this much horsepower in my Mustang 5.0 or T-bird.

They’re made in San Antonio. They only make them here.

That sound of wind through the trees is just as awesome as that truck being reviewed.

I have a '12 SR5 TRD. Bought new,chose the 4.6 b/c the 6 speed was purpose built for it. Feels plenty strong,pulling hard up through RPM range. I can touch 20 mpg unloaded. Great big brakes. Tow/haul mode is fun and pulls my 18 ft Ranger V-hull well. My biggest gripe is it don't like to give you control while spinning in snow or mud. I pull the ABS fuse and d/a the trac control when playing. I have heard changing the PS pump is costly(3k) due to needing to about pull the motor. The oil is more difficult to change,due to filter setup and the skid plate. I would buy it again though.

You got that right about the oil changes! I hate spending 2+ hours changing motor oil.. good thing it's only every 10,000 miles!

Hard as hell to find one under 10k. The demand must be high.

If you want a half ton, stick to either generation of tundra. The reliability can't be beat

Actually 1st generation is longer and wider lol, double cab is. This 2nd gen also has a smaller turning radius. They just puffed it up so it is harder to see out of it, but essentially exactly the same size.
@matteomclaughlin4090
@matteomclaughlin4090 3 месяца назад
Your joking right? The first gen is nowhere near as wide and long as the 2nd gens

Just got a 2007 tundra limited crewmax with the trd package and 5.7L, I love it and it's in pretty close perfect condition. Only 150k miles used, had a 2007 tundra sr5 longbed with the 4.7L, still have it but needs a new engine, the dealership forgot to out oil in it after fixing the sparkplug. They said they put oil in it but turns out they didnt as it died on the highway. Also I think it was the same guy who broke my mirror while parking it that forgot to put oil. But I'll get a new engine for 500 bucks and install it and have it be my work truck or winter truck and have my new tundra be my daily to work, to get groceries and just to go places. While the new tundra is a huge upgrade the only downside is the fact that the bed is so small.

The dealer should replace the engine for free if it was their fault...

Does the white color get boring eventually? It looks nice and I’m considering it but it does seem plain. Can’t decide between white or cement at this point.

Only thing to watch out for especially if looking for a used 07-13 is floor bed rust in the corners ,cam tower leaks and check the frame for excessive rust. I’m debating on buying a 09-13 tundra or gamble on trying to find a higher mileage 15 f150 5.0 aluminum body only looking to spend $12k Canadian.I live in Canada we use salt on the roads and thinking the fords aluminum body should along time .now my truck is no going to see a lot of miles just a wk end truck

I’d get the tundra just because it always beats the ford for reliability

Come on man! Didn’t even mention or show the rear seats functionality? You’re reviewing a CrewMax so why didn’t you show the most important thing? All I want to see is the function of the rear seat recliner and being able to move forward and backwards? Why don’t anyone have any reviews on that features? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Could I put a 8ft pop up camper in the back? Or is that too much for the 5.5ft bed?

I don't have any firsthand experience to go off but I have seen some higher mileage 2nd Gen Tundras that seem to be running strong still. If you haven't already come across it you should search million mile tundra.
