@@Mecks7 i would rather buy an 325i with a bit more km than a 320i with less.. cause the n52 engine shown in the video is one of the best engines that bmw ever made.in my opinion. for example the m54. oil consumption and hydraulic lifters are a little thing that many of the n52 have. thats why i bought a coupe. cause cab and coupe have different pistons in the n52.. sometimes when its cold the lifters are ticking a little bit. but thats not a point to worry about.. drive some longer on the weekend and youre good to go.

@@Mecks7 Yes it is! I have a N52b30 in my e92 330i and its glorious. 155.000kms right now. My last e46 325ci has 350.000kms when i sell it and was running smooth! was an M54b25. If you take care of the engine, it will still runing with 500.000kms for sure!

Hello mate, I’m in the uk, I’m looking at BMW 3 series, I’ve seen a 2008 325i M Sport for sale, would this have the N52 engine? It’s only done 87,000 miles. Would this be a good buy? I think the N52 is one of the most robust and reliable engines right? Is there anything I should look out for when buying this model?

A 2008 will have the N53 engine. It’s similar to the N52 but uses high pressure direct injection rather than port injection. It also uses stratified charge combustion modes. It’s pretty reliable, things to check are if the NOX sensor is working, usually these will throw error codes if not. Without this sensor the combustion modes won’t work properly. The N53 does have better fuel economy than the N52. Make sure it isn’t idling rough either. 87,000 miles is excellent for the age and should be a decent car. I’ve got a 2008 325i M sport myself and they are fantastic cars.

@@SamvirThandi thanks very much for the info. The only thing I’ve found is that these BMW have outdated stereo systems, I think I saw a 2011 3 series that still has the tiny orange coloured digital display, no dab radio etc. it seems you need to buy a much newer model to get a decent modern stereo. I know you can buy your own, but I much rather have s factory fitted one. I’ve had a DAB radio fitted to my current car, while it looks fine and works fine, I’ve never been happy with the fitment really, as Abit of the trim rattles sometimes, where the original car trim is slightly fouling the aftermarket fascia that Halfords fitted to house the new stereo, that’s why I’m not keen on fitting my own to my next car

@@jonnygti yes that is a problem with this gen. Later facelift models can be optioned with iDrive but its not common and depending on the model may come with the original idrive software as opposed to the newer version. Most just have the standard orange display. Mine was actually faulty so I just got the whole thing replaced with a pioneer DAB system with apple CarPlay and android auto. I got it done from an car audio specialist who specialise in retrofits. Probably best to find a specialist as they do a real good job as opposed to Halfords. I also got a camera and new tweeters fitted too. There’s also companies that will retrofit modern day idrive systems into E92s as well. So there are lots of options out there for all sorts of requirements. It’s of course not a perfect solution and obviously there’s an additional cost but it’s still pretty decent especially with the rest of the car being really good for the age.

@@SamvirThandi yes I think an audio specialist would be a better option, if ever I need an after market stereo fitted. Yours sounds like just the job, and I’ll bet the trim doesn’t rattle or squeak on rough roads does it? Mine was fitted by someone who looks the same age as my nephew (14)😂 So if a BMW has idrive, does that mean it’s got DAB too? Or is there a older and later version of idrive, one with a normal FM tuner, and one with DAB?

@@jonnygti they did a really good job on mine and integrated it well. In terms of DAB I believe it was an option on the standard stereo. In the manual for mine it says digital radio but notes this is optional. There’s various versions of the standard stereo and then there’s the iDrive system. I presume the idrive should have DAB since it’s the highest end option. But you’d have to check that yourself.

330Ci is a bit faster. But the key difference is isolation of both cars. E92 is much more quiet and comfy compared to older generation. E92 also has such a GT character, which you can’t find in E46. But 330Ci is a legend :-), E92 has still some time ahead to become a legend.

Can someone tell me why this cars make that “whining noise” in the first 3 gears? Like from 1000-3000rpm they whine like a aupercharger.. in fourth and fifth gear it geats super quiet … my f10 n53 manual makes the same noise .. is this normal! Like a underground train 😅
