Gordon Brown's last budget was delivered on 21 March 2007, at a time when it was almost universally acknowledged he would become Prime Minister shortly afterwards. The most prominent feature was reducing the main rate of income tax from 22% to 20%, although this move was later criticised as the removal of the 10% starting rate he had introduced in 1999 resulted in increased tax some low paid workers. Also included are responses from Leader of the Opposition David Cameron, and Liberal Democrat leader Menzies Campbell.
