I appreciate this video, and I am sure your daughter appreciates what you're doing for her. Some modern conveniences in an older car make the world of difference, and I'm going to try to do a similar install in my HHR now.
Underrated car. Simple to work on and easy to upgrade. Much better than the PT Cruiser it was built to compete against. If I were you I'd take a very close look at the fuel lines. They're steel and vulnerable to rust in spots where they're under clips and plastic shielding. Water collects in those areas and corrodes the cheap lines GM decided to use.
Thanks for the video. I want to upgrade my car stereo on same model vehicle for same reasons + add back-up cam for reverse parking in tight spots where jerks park purposely wrong, but mostly for Spotify, Bluetooth and my playlists on my iPhone. This video will help me change my first car stereo. Now I just need to find out how to install speakers; my car came with missing speakers, my guess is it had aftermarket and they couldn’t find the original ones to put back in. It only has the tweeters + 1 or 2 speakers in the front doors, the back doors and trunk speakers are all missing, not plugged correctly or in none working condition. Anyway, thanks a bunch for your video boss and the idea of a dash-cam.
Great to hear! I'm going to be hard-wiring the dashcam into the electrical system tomorrow so it comes on automatically when the car is started and turns off when the car is turned off. I'll post that video within the next few days.
Please let me know where to get same unit the ones I been looking don't come with wire harness interface,I bought a axxis interface for other units and don't work Wright
I have one of these cars but the stereo is silent, no audio comes out the speakers. I was told it's because of the antitheft thing, so I was wondering if I get another stereo would it work or does the power signal comes from the computer or something like that? Supposedly the previous owner hit a rough pothole and it stopped working since. The radio turns on, everything seems to work, clock, radio presets, volume, etc. but it's silent, no sound comes out. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a question I just installed an aftermarket radio connected all my wires the harness comes with a separate red wire I ran that to the ignition switch fuse but it's draining my battery What could be the issue??
It's critical to the install because it has the control module included. Without the harness I don't think the car will even start because it passes output from the car's computer.
