Can u do a video on rear main gasket seal replacement on the same truck. My buddy fixed my valve covers. But that was only some of the leak fix. If u can. Thanks. Good vid btw
Nicely done, my aspen is getting ready for a lifters but so called mechanics make it sound so difficult saying that it calls for messing with the cylinder heads also is that true.
Hi great video but i do have the same issue on a 2006 durango 5.7 with a bit of leaking its minor but I'd like to know what kind of cleaner you used for the covers i some what heard what you used but didnt make it out 😅 thank you
I live in Dallas TX and I have a 2008 Chrysler Aspen that needs the valves cover gaskets replaced and also the exhaust manifolds have broken bolts so exhaust is leaking a little thru there. What would be an estimate cost for labor, I have the exhaust manifolds already. I would try and do it my self but I would not know how to remove the broken manifold bolts
Depending on the shop and their pricing. Labor could be anywhere from $500-$800. Extracting the broken studs can be tricky. I use the weld a nut to the stud method. That’s been the most effective for me. Replacing the valve cover gaskets is not too difficult.
This is 8 months after this post but anyone reading this with the same question may benefit from my comment. I have done exhaust manifold bolt/gasket replacement on many 5.7l HEMIs. Nearly all of them will have broken studs/bolts at the extreme ends of the manifold. I have never had a problem getting broken studs and bolts out of the block. They tend to break even with the top of the manifold and are easily extracted with pliers once you have the manifold off. Good luck and don't be intimidated!
@@Primer2toneGarage dude I've been charged 5600 and have a few other things to do but the garage is definitely overcharging me where are you Canada or us
Now I know engines and I'm telling you it's because my truck's not breathing properly but the guys trying to tell me it needs a new engine it's not it's a misfire from the exhaust
Broke a valve cover bolt on my aspen its the lower back side towards the firewall ... what can i do ? And what would you do if i pulled into the shop i got it clamped with vise grips but you know i dont want to be like that for ever
Its broken off in the head but in a very tight spot i was thinking of doing a video as there is none on the 5.7 hemi yet that have broke these .. man it succkkss
