Hey man, bike looks great! I also have an 07 VTX1300R. I got it in 09 and don’t ride it nearly enough. I love seeing all that can be done to dress up these bullet proof bikes. I have to get me a fairing to keep from getting so beat up by the wind. Keep the shiny side up!
The 1300vtx is the most balanced cruiser I've seen, low down, super comfortable, and easy to ride. It's definitely too big for a first bike, so you have to be careful.(that's why dealerships are littered with 1300's that have dings and drops, lol) But they have good smooth power, great for riding local roads, and has enough power to Easily rip on the highway and Not feel like you're getting pushed around.
It’s now 2021 and I just bought my 2007 VTX 1300R from the daughter of an elderly rider that past away keeping it in his garage all this time. It only has 3,700 miles.
Just saw the video. I have the same bike color and some add on parts. I have soft bags to take on and off. Tank big, fender tip,, pinstripes... Like the retro look when the windshield and bags are off. I bought this bike in 2014 after not riding for 20 years. Never had a cruiser and had no idea what a great bike this was. Mine has 22,000 on it. I love the intake and covers. I am putting some cobra pipes on mine since I recently learned the stock pipes were altered. Anyway love yours. Great video!
Love the bike man. I've had my 99 shadow 750 ace for about 2 years now and I'd like to find one of these now. Love what you've done to the bike, color is great as well. I look forward to owning one of these very soon. It's funny you mention NC, that's where I am and yes i pretty much ride year round unless it's raining bad or rare occasions of snow and ice.
Anthony Leonard it was a great bike I sold a probably about three years ago with 24,000 miles on it and not one problem that ever gave me I wish I just had the 1800 but it was a great bike lotta fun
I started to add a harley road glide fairing on my vtx. I got me a welder and my own metal from home depot. So for its working out. The only thing is gonna be tough is making the dual light work. I ordered a harness kit for it hopefully that will work
Awesome video man, I'm actually looking at one now to upgrade from my 750. I haven't seen it first hand yet but I'm a little over 6ft tall how do you think it'd fit?
Got one for sale. Good condition garage kept 2006 w 11k miles. Has mustang seats, sissy bar, HD progressive rear shocks, HD progressive front forks everything else is stock it’s a vtx1300R. Recently had Honda dealership done oil change, radiator flushed, brake lines flushed and brand new fuel lines and new spark plugs and battery. The fuel tank probably needs to be resealed cause there’s a little rust in there cause she has been sitting in the garage for 10 months and she probably needs her carb cleaned as well that’s it. Color sky blue and tires still good. Title in hand located in Las Vegas 😁
VTX 1300 S, the "S" was for spokes. Later, they came out with a 1300 R with mag wheels which looks a lot like this one with no spokes. I know, I have a 2004 VTX 1300 S and love it, no reason to ever part with it either. Same color as this one in the video which is kind of cool because the paint pretty much matches the color of the engine.A lot of plastic is used because it is lighter in weight than steel plus it never rusts. The lighter weight gives you a better power to weight ratio too with just enough rumble using a single pin crank to let you know it's a Vtwin.
Looks great! I have to get a fairing for mine yet too And make it a complete cruiser. Like you said, you could've just bought a used Harley, but then....all you'd have is a Harley.
Cool bike, definitely like it. Definetly do some videos of your guns man id love to see that. Just saw your channel I know this is an old video but I hope you see this comment !
I love my silver fox vtx. lol but yours is sweet. Lots of extras. Love it, tks and nice video! Best balanced bike ive ever owned! if ever down in NC look me up, take u on blue ride parkway for a ride youll remember, lol! Safe journeys...
I've got an 07 1300R with 5500 miles on it,sitting in my little garage dead in the water, needs starter button work, pretty sad I know, not a hard core biker at all,its been up for sale on Facebook for a while, but your vid on this makes me wanna ride again, I've never been outta state or took it more than a couple hundred miles at once at a time, and since I'm in northern Michigan I might get 5 and a half months to ride.My bike is black ⚫ and hates me for sure, wish I'd rode it across the country by now, gotta get outta here...
That was one of the best Bikes I’ve ever owned very reliable very smooth I went all the way down to Virginia on that motorcycle from New Hampshire great bike
Hey man I love your vtx I have one as well and was wondering what kind of additional light bar do you have? the one on your bike looks great with the fairing and wanna know the brand name if possible?
That's actually a Honda light bar out front for the driving lights that's a Honda part for that bike I got it about six months after I bought the bike as a leftover 2008
I want a Batwing but I don't want speakers, or radio. Bluetooth unit that has GPS would be ok but mainly just to break the wind and the look is awesome to. I feel like Dunlop 404 are cheap but they make a high end tire I've yet to try one so they call they are very good in the rain.
Me being from New England as well; I'm wondering what starting her up on a cold morning is like with the carburated engine? Does it take long to warm up? I might get an '07 this weekend with wicked low miles. Kinda nervous about not getting the fuel injected model or the 1800.
by the way, if you are changing oil every 3,000 running full syn, you are really wasting money. Your bike i know but you can actually get double that or more running full synthetic. Oil companies love us 3,000 mile guys but honda says believe or not every 7 to 8,000. I know when he told me that i freaked out. Its a brainwash the oil companies started but viscosity in full syn resist breakdown and has lot more viscosity than regular. even regular they said every 5,000. Hope this helps
Didn’t GM back in the the day stated .. change your oil every 30 or 50,000 miles so customer listened and they all wrecked their engines ??? I’m a 3000 miles changer no matter what but synthetic oil my max is 5000 as I cringe 😬 pass 3000 miles .. and yes it’s expensive.
Kevin Levy The turn signals actually the factory ones which mount up to the fog light bar all from Honda but the lenses are aftermarket smoked from Jp cycles
I've got a 2007 c. Added a fairing and hard saddlebags with speakers and amp. Same pipes, I'm not sure what jets are in it. I bought the bike about 2.5 years ago now. Floor boards for both riders. LED everything. I've been thinking about up grading my air intake; any noticable differences out did you buy it with that on it? Update! Don't forget that shaft drive! So smooth and what ya want!
@@Gasolinegarage if I could find a bagger with Harleys electrical capabilities and Hondas shaft drive, of be in heaven! My vtx 1300 produces 364 watts from the stator at 5k rpm. I'm not sure what the numbers are on different Harleys, but I know I had to work with some small numbers to get my stereo system working. Harleys typically have larger main fuses. I have (1) 30A main. I'm happy with what I did, but you're not going to push even 8" speakers with only about 110 watts to play with. Just won't happen! But I did use this set up for anyone interested: Amplifier: Soundstream stealth series st4.1000DB Speakers: (2) Memphis audio 6x9's MS69 & (2) JBL 6.5" GX628. set your gain correctly and you'll have enough power to listen at triple digits. Seriously, 100+ mph and I'm still good!
Hi guys, does some know what's the different on the engine, betwen the VTX 1300 S and his two sisters The R and C? I have hearth something about it, but can't remember what it is..thanks
2007 v tx 1300 R,,mine has mags like a fat boy ,but from honda.whats great about carburetor, if you break throttle cable, just PULL out choke,I can hit 55mph,,,been there,,.1949 Ford headlight rechromed & led everything.,lov my vtx,,,go anywhere, anytime.full synthetic mobile one oil ,every 8,ooo miles.,,Honda reliability is amazing!-☆☆☆
jose gaspar actually they're not you have to buy an adapter from metric to standard because stock risers will not fit aftermarket handlebars so you have to buy the adapter plus the risers it's a pain in the ass
I've been looking at Honda VTX as a cruiser bike. It would be my second bike my first one was a sport bike. Is there anything you want to look for when buying a used VTX? Any help would be appreciated
Make sure the final drives have been serviced a lot of people forget about the rear end because it’s a shaft driven motorcycle make sure the seals aren’t leaking other than that that motor is pretty bulletproof maybe your front seals on your forks pretty reliable motorcycle all the way around though
It wasn't a kit I found got them for a guy in FL accessories International. Then make them to order .. And there not cheap... 325.00 for the 3 of them .. Good luck with your bars
Sorry. I don't know if this was asked in a previous comment, but what caught my eye on this video were the saddlebags that were in the thumbnail. They're not on your bike in the video, but I'm very interested in knowing what they are so I can get a set.
St White I posted this video before I bought those hard bags from for the bike which I love by the way shortly after I bought those bags I ended up selling the bike was a great bike it just needs to be upgraded the motor is small I wish it was the 1800
Yes I did I put a piece of rubber anything that’ll do to keep the vibration down you need to put something in between because they will slide if you don’t put a piece of rubber between the clamp in the fork
Beautiful bike. Ive had both Harleys and Hondas. I never paid over 10 grand for a Harley. To get one cheap you have to buy and old low mileage garage queen.
At about 28000 miles (2004 model) I noticed system voltage was a bit low (21.5 volts) when running so I ordered a new regulator / rectifier, the stator puts out 3 phase AC hence the rectifier portion, from Partzilla.com for around 68 dollars brand new and now system voltage when running is a 14 strong volts. Took about an hour to remove and re-route the new harness but it is a plug and play unit.
@@Gasolinegarage lmao!!! I’m almost finished with my bagger build I looked for 2 years trying to find a set of the QQ bags like you had, I ended up buying a set from backyard air suspension I found a company called C and C seats
Travis Rc Adventures Yeah that was a fun build that bike and those bags I think that company the whole warehouse and facility burnt down that’s why nobody can find them anymore they’re gone the companies gone
@@Gasolinegarage I’ve been looking for over 2 years hoping someone would have a set those are QQ bags the company that made them their shop burned down cant no longer get them thanks man stay safe 🤟
I’ve never did the brakes on this bike that I can remember but I think it’s similar to any other motorcycle if you want to search those just clap the pistons take the calipers off replace the brake pads
Moses Osborne A lot if you injectors have injectors which were self prime at the beginning when you start the motorcycle up you don't have to worry about altitude problems like you do with the carburetor and they just run way more fission there more fuel-efficient we have more power and more throttle response my next bike has fuel injection
www.woodysfairings.com/ Is the guy he bought them from. I got one from theusatrailerstore.com/honda-vtx-1300-1800-batwing-fairing/ fits perfect. Also another one is recklessfairings. Good luck. Check out VTXOA.com lots of good stuff and great people on that forum.
No not at all it was just a review on my motorcycle to VTX at the time of that video those saddlebags were put on shortly after and then I sold the bike I wish I could do an update video for you guys on that video but that video I posted almost 2 years ago
Montana Estep I wish I could remember buddy I know they’re 12inches though and then I put a 6 inch riser They’re actually designed for a Harley Davidson I believe because I had to get different type of clamp for the triple trees for the Honda set up
@@Gasolinegarage I'm also a big guy andI just took the windshield off my vtx1800 because it was at that perfect height to turn my head into a paint shaker at highway speeds, also just put 14 inch apes on it because the stock bars felt like I was close enough to scratch my knees
Berserker Nick Trust me I know the feeling but if I could do it over again I probably would’ve shot for the 1800 VTX that thing has a lot of power but I had a windshield on mine from Memphis shades but my line of sight would put me right on the edge of the windshield I didn’t like that either specially at night
Those saddlebags were designed from a company which were called QQ bags I believe the business is no longer in existence because it had a fire and never reopened
@@Gasolinegarage thanks, I am looking at a 2006 Honda vtx 1300s retro with them bags on it... I like them but I wanted to see how they open and how big they are, appreciate the help 🤙🏼
@@Gasolinegarage I'm sorry man but where did you say you got those hardbags at? Or is that the place that you were talking about that burnt down? I really love those bags and have been looking for a long long time for something I like.
