Lagat was simply flying that last 100m. It was so great to see him finally win and to see how happy he was to win for USA. If Webb was in 1:43/3:30/3:46 shape like he was a month earlier, he would have medaled for sure.
Alan pushed too hard at 300m and 150m to try to regain the lead over kiprop should have settled for the position he was in and patiently wait til 100 to unleash he would have maybe medaled or at least top 5
One of the greatest embarrassments in American running history. To have the fastest runner in the world that year over 1500m be a true American born man and the USA ends up getting given the gold by a Kenyan who changed to represent the USA. And the American fades in the home stretch to way out of medal contention. Damn
