It isn't just nostalgia. It's just so much more entertaining to watch. The broadcast and overall vibe is just great. The all-star broadcast team helps too. There's just something about it. My friend (who usually loathes racing of any sort) actually just sat and stared at the TV for a good 15 minutes. They actually said "This isn't so bad. I like the commentators."
Idk why but it's always weird for me to see Hamlin already in Cup in 2006/2007. I always forget he's been around such a long time. Especially seeing the same sponsor / car number it's just throws off my mental model of NASCAR eras seeing him in the same field with guys like Rudd, Marlin, Schader.
As someone who consistently needs to find high quality references for paint schemes of this era I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for these uploads. This is seriously the kind of broadcast quality that can save days of research when it comes to tracking down decals and the like
Jeff Burton could've sent Kyle packing several times here, but he raced him clean and took home second rather than punting him. That karma came back around when Kyle didn't punt his kid, Harrison, at Daytona this year.
