A shame Taylor didn't win in the 10, but that was an absolutely astounding recovery drive from 9th. And on that last lap there was a fraction of a chance that he could win, 2nd was within his grasp. Amazing
370k views and only 3k likes... Guys! This is top notch Motorsports and they don't even want to take our money for it. The least we could do is to leave a like!
The racing is great!! BUT TV footage and commentators are not following the race! Their are overtakes for Podium in LMP2 not shown, commentators talking about class information while battles in others classes are shown and strategy I don´t want to start with it -> Quote: "This can be race winning move, can also not be". WOW. This I know from home without Timing and beeing live in Pit Lane...
I was at the race event and it seemed like it was a lot of caution/safety car laps. And I'm not talking about the actual crashes which are obviously a must. I didn't realize there was a minimum time for the safety car to stay out and I find it ridiculous. I don't know how the drivers can feel like this is a competition when 70+ minutes of a 2hr 40 min race is under caution. 🤕🥵 The last 2 laps of the race was the most excitement and that's what was missed...more GREEN flag!!
I've had a bad season, was at Watkins Glen with the red flag fiasco and this race where it seemed there were only bronze drivers on the course since there was a yellow every 20 minutes. I think Penske's success has been understanding how to navigate these 20 minute green flag stints. Other thing, JOT is competitive in WEC, yet no privateer Porsche is competitive in IMSA. Shame.
Congrats to Porsche Penske Motorsport 🇺🇲🇩🇪 #6 team and their drivers Mathieu Jaminet 🇨🇵 / Nick Tandy 🇬🇧 into take their 2nd Overall/GTP class victory of 2024‼️🥇🥇🥳 Congrats to Porsche Penske Motorsport 🇺🇲🇩🇪 #7 team and their drivers Dane Cameron 🇺🇲 / Felipe Nasr 🇧🇷 in 2nd place into achieve their 6th podium in 7 races this 2024 🥈🙌 wich keeps them in the lead of the GTP standings for the 7th race in a row 🔝 With Porsche 963 customer teams Proton Competition 🇩🇪 achieving their 3rd Top 5 with a 5th place and JDC-Miller Motorsport 🇺🇲 repeating their best result with their second 6th place, It's the best race overall for all 4 cars entered in the GTP class this 2024 💪 It's the 2nd 1-2 finish for Porsche Penske Motorsport 🇺🇲🇩🇪 in the GTP era 🥇🥈 #6 and #7 teams becomes the only 2 time winners this 2024 🥇🥇🥇🥇 #6 and #7 teams are now 1st and 2nd in the GTP standings 🔝 #IMSA #Porsche963
I would love to see a longer distance race here at Road America. It's one of our only proper big tracks for sportscar racing, only a kilometer shorter than Spa, I think long green flag distances here would be killer to watch
@@ZeugmaP Need some type of Driving Standards administrator and implementation of penalties that actually Penalize the offenders. Also, get rid of that useless pass-around BS. Participation trophies should not be needed at this level.
@@paulgering7703hope not, the new fcy-vsc-sc madness is terrible imo, this feels much more honest and approachable. I'd be fine with old-style FCYs though.
Start at 5:45. 1st caution flag at 7:37. Restart at 15:22. 2nd caution flag at 23:45. Restart at 44:50. 3rd caution flag at 1:17:55. Green flag at 1:41:20. 4th caution flag at 1:46:08. Green flag at 1:55:50. 5th caution flag at 2:08:20. Green flag at 2:29:15. Finish at 2:46:34.🎉❤.
This year this channel streams the races live to everywhere except the U.S. where it's blocked. Then after a couple of weeks they unblock the video but it remains under the "Live" tab instead of under the "Videos" tab like in the past.
I think I disagree with the stewards about Andersen's penalty for hitting Kasemets. Andersen's move was clumsy, sure, but he was there, he was alongside enough, the way I see it. Then Kasemets starts turning in without any regard for Andersen's existence. Andersen notices this, starts backing off but cannot avoid the contact. And unfortunately, the angle of contact is just the kind that can fool you into thinking it was 100% Andersen's fault.
What was the driver of that 64 Proton Mustang thinking? The race hadn't even started, and in the first lap it dives right on to the Corvette! That Mustang was never going to make that turn. It looked like last race in Mónaco at F1, were Magnusen crashed Perez. It seems to me, there's starting to show up a systematical way on crashing the Corvettes right at the very beginning of the race. Better luck for Corvette team Next time, and Hope there'd be some kind of penalty for that 64.
I'd keep Eng replace the rest. Imo the problem goes all the way up to the BMW CEOs eco twins. As much as I like Bobby Rahal I think it's time for a new team also. Maybe bring in the fixer Joest if they're still active.
@@markhunt7434 I'd be willing to turn in over to WRT but the results in WEC have been the same. Which makes me wonder if it's a Suzanne Klatten, Stefan Quandt problem. And or possibly the car is just not good.
Road America is a long track, so don’t get off the lead lap, then yellows will bring you back to end the end of the field, then you can come back. Look at the 10 car for example
it was a drive-thru penalty, it was early on too, the best race period to get penalties not to mention how they avoided all the carnage and took advantage of that
We saw at Laguna Seca, that the Penske Porsches are even allowed to overtake under SC conditions and win the race. But if a GT3 car does anything, it will get at minimum a DT penalty...
@@Avant-garde_VanguardistAlthough imo it should be noted as well that in IMSA getting a lap down in a longer race may also be less relevant since there's often a good chance you'll get those laps back at some point. Way too forgiving imo.
@@theflagstand that is true, sometimes the rules of IMSA kinda go against what endurance racing should be about. Though it does create exiting race nonetheless. For example, those last few laps, and the the last lap for the GTP cars having to navigate heavy traffic was awesome!
Comme toujours porsche qui ejecte les Cadillac ça change pas, que ce soit en Imsa ou en Wec les porsches sont vraiment les pires (avec ferrari même si ils roulent pas en Imsa), aucun respect et les GT3 pas mieux.
Not luck so much as bad driver decisions and some questionable pit strategies. It's difficult to tell whether the BMW is more difficult to set up than the other GTPs or it's down to driver performance (or combination of the two).
One Corvette got screwed by the 65 Mustang (Rockenfeller, shame on him) and the other Corvette screwed themselves in the pit stop.Having the fastest cars doesn`t always work out in the IMSA series.Yellows are very strange in this series, one car (Lambo) pulls off the track and it takes 20 plus minutes to get going again. With a big track like Road America 2hours and 40 minutes is way too short. This should be at least a 4-6 hour race, why don`t they.
They do miss alot of action as it happens under the green but to their credit it's impossible to keep abreast of so many cars at once in 4 different classes. IMSA allows too many cars to participate and on many of the circuits this is simply unrealistic...thus all the FCYs.
