So I just want to put some input. This is not as hard as the guy said at all. You do need a extra hand though. Makes it go faster. We put it on jack stands in the front. Took off the right front wheel. Took off the side plastic next to the crank pulley. Took off the bottom plastic on the bumper. Then I was able to see what I needed (get you a nice bright LED light. Walmart sells them for like 12 bucks) and squeeze in there. We ended up getting the compressor through the side next to the crank pulley. It is TIGHT. Let me save you some trouble here though. You don't need to do this. You can turn it pulley up or down and slide it right out the bottom. Didn't realize this till after it fell out the bottom when going to put it back in... 🤦‍♂️ anywho take your time. It's not hard. No need for all the extra work. Took me 2 hours to complete. Oh and check your belt while you do all this incase you need to change it since you will have it all loose. Also the one I worked on was a 2008 Santa fe limited 3.3L. Good luck. 👍🤙

I just completed this on my 2011. For those wondering, the SF in the video is a V6, not sure which one (2.7 or 3.3), mine is a 3.5L. Very similar except mine only had a single fan and the top transmission cooler line had to be unhooked for the radiator to be pulled back far enough. I didn't have a hoist and it took me about 5 hours total. The compressor is removed from the inner fender panel, and you likely could remove the bolts on a hoist from the bottom, but with the rad fan still mounted, it would be very tight, and you would be removing the top 4 fasteners (compressor and lines) by feel only.

I followed this video and it helped me allot even though it was more descriptive than actual. It was accurate and what I needed. I went both through the side wheel well after removing the wheel, and by tilting the radiator back and replacing condenser at same time. In fact, I was able to have one arm through the wheel well and the other through the top opening to do some of the work.

Is there a second part to this video showing the actual AC compressor change? The title says it's an AC compressor change. You explained a great deal while showing us different parts of the vehicle, but you never changed anything.

The camera work was quite shoddy as well-- operator couldn't decide which way to orient the camera and FOCUS it? Other than that, and not actually changing anything in the video (I understand this video was post job), but if you say there are no videos on it and you decided to make a video for it, please show the change out in the video-- otherwise, you're just giving us a visual/explanatory tour of what you state you did for the job-- not as informative for people looking to learn from you how to do it. Thanks for your effort!

Good how to on swapping a compressor, on your next video try to steady and control your camera a little better...got dizzy watching. Going to tackle one of these, not my usual item to work on but with your video I know what I'm getting into now.

Everybody says it has to be removed through the top. I'm still gonna put some time into trying to sneak it out the bottom 🤪

Does not have to go up. I took mine out the side next to the crank pulley and later found out it can just come straight out the bottom once you tilt it upwards.

There is literally no videos on this procedure for the Santa Fe. Only downfall of this video is theres nothing to follow except for an explanation. While helpful, it would have been better to show the swap. I always fix my vehicles using the Haynes manuals, and it will show the differences for all the different 4 cyl and V6 engines, pre and post- 2007. I have small enough wrists that I can just get between the bumper/fan to access the AC from below when on ramps and using a creeper. Major problem is the compressor is mounted to a bracket that has 6- 14mm bolts mounting it to the block. Theres not enough clearance to drop the compressor on our 2008 Santa Fe 2.7L. It is sandwiched between the frame and the AC bracket. You have to disconnect the belt, then the electrical connector, then AC hoses, then the 4- 12mm compressor bolts, wrap the hose ends/O-rings in saran wrap and tape. Tilt the compressor up onto the pulley side to expose the 4 right side 14mm bracket bolts. Then un-tilt the compressor and lift the whole thing up into the cross member and hold it there with one arm while you undo the last 2 left 14mm bracket bolts. This drops the whole bracket and compressor down. Installation is the reverse steps. But I had the whole bumper unclipped in case I had to go that route. thanks for the vid explanation of that.;)
