Out of all the videos I've seen on this job, that was the best view of the tool that holds the sprocket and cleared up some of the uncertainty I had about that step in the job. To me that's the most important part of the job. I would have liked to see you put it on there but aporeciate the view.

Are you find one already did a pressure test on my radiator tank and I was leaking fluid and I didn’t know what to do. I tried everything else, but finally taken to a mechanic I got the answers it wasn’t for me. It wasn’t from anybody I knew it wasn’t from looking on RU-vid. FOR ANYONE WHO IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE WHINING SOUND. I just did this job with the special tool and still ended up with the whining sound from the tensioner. Soooo...I lowered the motor a couple of inches by disconnecting passenger side motor mount so I could remove the long bolt that goes through the timing cover and allow the timing cover to come out. Replaced the timing tensioner with a new one because I just did not trust the old one anymore. Anyways, I put it all back together after I checked that the motor was still in time and the whining sound was gone.

You did a good job on the vid I normally remove the exhaust manifold it make that stupid cross over pipe easy to handle but its. Not necessary. The sailor comes out in me all the time too. lmao

I used to do my maotntenance. Will the water pump fail like old ones like on 1969 Camaro? Front seal goes bad then leaks. How do,I know for sure the WP is leaking on 2012 Malibu. 111,000 still ok. External tank low almost empty. Most things in the cooling system give you warning. Gradual failure, leak. Fix me now or else!

Do you remove the bolt under the sprocket before you put it on? Or put it 9n the take it off? It dont seem like I can fit a socket

Gotta love those engineers. I would have made that pipe short enough to slide in the thermostat housing and cock to the side. Put a bolt tab to hold it in place after it’s back in….. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Hey, I took my car to a shop and they changed the waterpump. The car wheel started shaking and ran hot. Took the car back and they claimed it was fixed. Now it shakes when I decrease speed.

Yo! I know this video is old as fuck. My moms car has a leaking water pump, I checked it all out and its the crossover tube that's leaking from the thermostat side. Is it possible to just remove the cross over and replace the orings?
