Thank you so very much for your DIY, it's just what I needed. I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS 2.2l and I'm replacing the sway bar links and bushings tomorrow 6/30/2023. It's going to be 90 degrees in Philly tomorrow, so I'm going to start at 6AM, because I am to old and can't take the heat. Getting an old body really sucks big time. Sincerely thank you Stan.
On the 2010 cobalt LS there are two options on the bushings. There is a 18mm and 24mm depending on sway bar thickness. Took me a while to find that out
As a tip - include the boxes with the part numbers CLEARLY shown!!! I managed to get the link number but you never showed the bushing box (had plenty of time when you were fiddling around with the bushing). Also, more light is needed under the car when dealing with the bushing.
I just got blue Moog bushings in the mail today, I've had this rattle in my car for the longest time. I replaced my control arms last summer along with my links and the noise didnt go away, hopefully this helps
The newer cars are, the cheaper it seems they're made. This one is no exception. It's a go cart chassis with a i4 in it. Mine was sent into a ditch after barreling through a fence and a mail box by an in-law. Steering wheel rattle ever since. Over the past year, I've replaced 2 control arms, 2 sway bar links, all shocks/struts, 1 wheel bearing, and most recently, the intermediate steering shaft. While the rattle is still indeed there in the s-wheel, each subsequent part replaced lessened the noise more and more. It's not too noticeable anymore but there is still a slight rattle at the wheel and light clunking sound over bumps and whatnot. I'm hoping this is the last piece that needs replaced.
Only thing I could find when I check was just to tighten them tight. You may be able to call your local Chevy dealer service department. They may be able to tell you.
Could be links, inner tie rod, outer tie rod, wheel bearing hub, or ball joint (control arm). Or an off balance tire, bent rim, or busted belt in tire.
Yeah that would’ve been AutoZone is where I got those they said they would fit turns out they were wrong so I went to advance and ended up getting the right ones. Those swaybar bushings were for the sports model of the cobalt.
@@StansAuto83 yeah I had the same thing happen with the sway bar links. I ended up with the wrong size. Got the 9.8" ones and when I measured I needed the 11.8" ones. I see you had the same issue. Did you find installing ones that were shorter changed the ride quality? And did you change both to the shorter ones on both sides? Just wondering
