Video on how to replace the air filter & cabin filter on a 2008 Chevy HHR! It's not hard to do but it is a pain to do. Hope this video helps everyone out!
Thanks for taking the time to show how this is done. I'm pretty sure our cabin filter was original and it looked like it! I have owned my parents' 2009 HHR since 2012 and I think the engine air filter has been changed once in the last 11 years. I need to be more aware of maintaining my beloved HHR as she nears 100,000 miles.
You are so welcome! My 2008 HHR known as the Skoggit Mobile needs new struts and shocks. It's really been a good car. Right now I have a little over 91,000 miles on it. I bought it used in 2010. It's a fun car to drive and reminds me of the 1948 Chevy Panel Truck. In the time I have had mine I probably put only about $2000 into mine. That's including tires. Really been a good car. Enjoy your HHR I really enjoy mine. Oh, and HHR stands for High Head Rest if you were wondering. Thanks for watching! Stay Safe and Take Care!
@@skoggit I didn't know what HHR meant...thanks for clearing that up! I just did all the struts and shocks on my car and she rides like new again. Next up are the spark plugs later this year as well as the transmission & radiator fluids...that should hold me for quite a while. Same here, it has been a very good car and I hope to get another 100,000 miles on her! Take care skoggit and thanks again for helping me out!
Hey my brother, heard y'all are going to be getting some heavy rain 🌧️ again along with wind gusts up to 40 mph. The wind is a typical day here in Tornado 🌪️ Alley. This air filter is a pain to replace. I hate working on cars these days. Nothing is easy to get to. Back in the 1970's I was the mechanic 🧰. Never took my car 🚗 in for repair. Hope Laura is doing well! Y'all Stay Safe and Take Care! Mrs. Skoggit sez hey 👋 to everyone!
Just changed the Cabin & Replaced the Paper disposable air filter with a K&N cleanable permanent filter ..it will need to be cleaned & reoiled in about 2 years or 20,000 miles 👍
Hey my brother, like I said in the video. It's not hard to do it's just a pain to do. I usually don't work on cars because everything is so hard to get to. Not like the old days when a man could work on a car. Hope you and yours are doing well! Y'all Stay Safe and Take Care!
@@skoggit My first car, a 1966 Ford Falcon, straight 6, had so much room in the engine compartment you could sleep in there. Change parts on the side of the road. Air filter was a single wing nut.
@@surfghost9121 I used to race a 1967 Ford Falcon when I raced Dirt Track. Cars back in the day was easy to work on. I'd buy a Chilton's Car Manual and I could fix anything. In fact a person could completely disassemble the car. LOL 😂! Those were the days! Hope you and yours are doing well! Y'all Stay Safe and Take Care!
@@skoggit Dang I remember those Chilton's. Lifesavers before RU-vid. That, auto shop and friends who worked at gas stations. We all learned as we went. Now an OEM dies and a perfectly good car becomes junk. Best to ya, buddy!
Geez Skoggit, the walls and ceiling of your garage is nicer than inside my house! You should do a video on that vehicle next to the HHR. What the heck is that thing? Let us people out in RU-vid land know. Take care brother!
Hey my brother, when I bought the house I couldn't understand why the inside of the walls of my garage looks so nice. I'm thinking the design was to be used as a game room or something. The other vehicle in the garage is a 1960 Chevy Apache Fleet side pickup truck. I bought the truck in 1985. It has a clear title in my name. My plans for the truck is to have it bagged out and make a Rat Rod out of it. I do have a video on the truck on my channel. I think it's called Rat Rod project. Going to take me a couple of years to get it all done. Hope you are doing well! Stay Safe and Take Care!
The Chevy HHR is a really fun car to drive. I like it because it reminds me of the 1949 Chevy Panel Truck from back in the day. Thanks for watching! Stay Safe and Take Care!
@@bongdonkey it's a 1960 Chevy Apache Fleet side pickup 🛻 truck. I bought it back in the 1980's. The plan is to bag it out and make a Rat 🐀 Rod out of it. Hopefully I will have enough money 💰 saved in a couple of years to do it. Stay Safe and Take Care!
I don't know why Chevrolet designed having to remove and disconnect so much stuff just to change a air filter. It's a real pain to do. Stay Safe and Take Care!
