My wife drives a 2006 Envoy Denali with the 5.3 and 4x4, it has good power and a nice V8 growl, people ask all the time, "nice SUV, is it new?" I am like no but thank you, its 12 years old and going strong. We'll never trade it in, we love it too much!
Totally agree my 4.2 v6 has 239,000 miles & has been tough as nails! Had to replace transmission because of a certain dealer(not gmc) neglecting to address an issue they noticed but didn't inform me until I had to repair the transmission. Now have to do tie rod & suspension repair but that's normal with potholes & rough roads! I would love to get another one but they've only got the Acadia which is ok but my '03 Envoy Xl is bigger!!
I currently have a 06 Trailblazer (same thing as the envoy mainly) has the 5.3 Vortec and is 4x4 and this thing has been a hell of a good truck in the almost two years I've had it .only have had to do routine maintenance and has 190k . Also had a 04 envoy with the 4.2 straight 6 and that thing was a great truck too
Thanks Kyle. Great in depth review, your attention to detail is great. Showing the sound of a horn if a window goes down a bit when the door opens and all the small nice touches. Others should learn from you.
Are you sure GMC can sometimes be vintage because I don't know if some of these season 5 GMC cars made by GM or from the Buick and GMC store at that store they sell GMC vehicles and Buick vehicles.
i like the interior. nice and cozy. wood trim looks very nice. and thats a proper looking steering wheel. this is what i could call the baby gmc yukon. nice.
I have one like this. Incredible power.. They missed a few things like self leveling rear end, compressor built in with hose to inflate tires. Did not mention the NAV system which it does have. BOSE stereo if off the charts good. Very smooth ride, quiet, lots of power and very comfortable. Not much space to put drinks etc up front. That is the only fault I have with it. Mine also has DVD in back and rear AC.
Denali is the branding GMC puts on all of its highest trim line trucks. It includes the Denali badges, the signature grill and a few other high end features.
It’s 2021, and Envoys still don’t look that dated. Like when they came out with this remodel they looked futuristic almost, and today they still look great. Miss mine, most surprising thing was they turn on a dime! I drive a patriot now and that feels more like a boat than this ever did!
I'd take this over the Trailblazer SS you toured, just because this one is more luxurious and has a MUCH nicer interior. A big sacrifice in power, but this is a much nicer vehicle.
The Trailblazer and its counterparts would've been so much better if the interior had been updated mid cycle. We had an 08 model and the interior was so dated, especially compared every other Chevy model. But man that 4.2L was great!
Got a 2007 Envoy Denali a few months ago with a 5.3 V8 and 60,000 miles. Bad rings and high oil consumption. The 5.3 with the AFM system that deactivates 4 of the cylinders is a bad idea. Luckily I got a new engine under warranty. Love every thing else about the Envoy.
Tom ShoemakerI can guarantee the engine trouble was due to owner neglect. GM LS motors only need regular maintenance & they could give you 500k miles or better
Ive had my 05 Chevy Trailblazer LS(base model of the platform) for a number of years. After watching this I certainly wish I was driving this instead. That truck must be the top of the top of the platform. I guess it'll have to wait till mine dies or something.
It's weird that I notice things like this, but this is your third video to feature Apologize (Timbaland) playing on the radio. Must be a popular song there considering the short window you have the radios on!
I know you've already done a QX56, and the gold one in this video probably isn't there anymore, but if you find yourself with nothing better to do (that's a joke) I would love to have a video on that one! My mom had one just like that and I miss that truck so much :)
@AllThingzVideo Its only for the northern midwest and northeast. And it is believed in cold climates there could be a gas leak I read it on the chicago tribune. You'll get a letter if you are believe to be affected. If not don't worry you're fine
I own this exact truck mine is a black on black 2007 envoy denali it Drives and handles like the day it left the show room one of the nicest suvs i have owned and some have commented on the v8 which is in mine as well being hard on gas these vehicles shut off 4 cylinders while coasting or crusing making it pretty decent on gas much better then my infiniti qx4 was
Damn look at that thing spit and smoke! Is that normal? my old Buick did the same thing after sitting for a long time. Very nice car, however it seems a bit outdated for an 08, that key fob/remote is the same thing they included with some late 90's early 2000's cars. I wish GM used the same system Dodge/Chrysler has just come out with, it's incredible!
