Thank you brother! This worked like a charm! I used LIQUI MOLY Pro-Line Engine Flush if anyone is looking for an alternative. Car runs so smooth now! Might have to do this every oil change now.
I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GDI motor, same ticking noise, do I change the oil first or after I add this BG product? How much does this BG product cost and what does it look like?
Alyx Bunday your car uses tappets and not hydraulic lifters. If it's coming from the top end of the motor then it's probably worn out tappets. You can get them changed but it a big job.
Is this an expensive fix? And are you good with these types of cars? Because I could send you a video of the sound , I've had several people tell me it's my valve lifters
My buddy just did this with a engine clean product from valvoline, “top treat oil system cleaner” he said he used 3 bottles and let it run 45 mins, he said it actually worked, for anyone looking for info on the product or directions
the mechanic talking to my BG rep today. he said they can not sell it over the counter. because it is labeled as professional use only. The only way you can get it would be to find a dealership that can "run it in your car" for you. Sorry.
