I like this car. As of 2013 it no longer holds the title, but it least it is a great piece of American Muscle.

This car was and now the tuatara is built 25 mins north of me, I see this guy driving a gold areo around town.

This car was made for speed. It was the fastest car in the world for a small period of time, not the most luxurious. You people and your obsession with aesthetics, and you still have no good taste.

Shittiest interior for 600k I've ever seen.

This thing is very cool, but I wish he would be honest and admit they were incapable of developing stability control software that would operate properly given the power and performance so that's why it doesn't have any, instead of waffling on about needing it to be a "drivers car". Part of the reason the Veyron is so damn expensive is because of all the R&D that went into developing the safety systems that allow you to drive it so fast WITHOUT being a driving God. This thing will kill you if you want to drive it to its potential and you aren't a pro.

I remember seeing this car in magazines back in the day. I thought it was cool but didn’t realize what a good looking car it is until I saw this. That side view while it goes down the road and the sound of the exhaust is incredible. I really like the interior too. If I won the lottery this would definitely be the first car I’d buy.

Yes the SSC Ultimate Aero was the world's fastest production car back in 2008, i'm not sure for how long it was the fastest car in the world tho. But TODAY in 2014 the fastest production car in the world is probly the Koenigsegg ONE:1... Anyways nice car i wouldn't mind one, but i would probly sell it and buy my self a Koenigsegg. One of the greatest cars ever built... I love how simple it is; no ABS, no traction control, & no stability-control. Also incredible how they designed their own engine with half the number of cylinders and turbo's of a Veyron SS, & yet it makes more horsepower! ... I guess what impresses me the most is that some American gets a vision is his head, and on his first attempt blows away a record held by a car from VW group which had way longer development and infinitely deeper pockets... I could only imagine what kind of car SSC would be able to produce if they had the kind of funding Bugatti has...Now if we could get this thing on the Ehra-Lessien test track for a V-Max run and take the title back from the Veyron SS! :-D

Lot of dumbasses commenting here. This is the first car made by a start-up company based in a city with a metro population of 250,000 (which is where I live, too); outside of which is pretty much middle-of-nowhere USA for a 100 mile radius. He has nowhere near the resources or experience VW (Bugatti/Lamborghini), Koenigsegg, McLaren, Ferrari, etc. have to build cars, so of course it’s not going to look as “refined” or have the features of cars made by those companies. Yet on this guy’s first try, using off-the shelf parts and essentially a garage to work in, he was able to make the fastest car in the world, which is unbelievable given what he had to work with. Now sure most people would take a Lamborghini or McLaren for this thing’s price since they’re more mass-produced (they only made like 50 Aeros, so you can’t even buy a new one) and practical than the Aero, but then this car was purpose-built for the speed record and being a “driver’s car”, so it’s a completely different market compared to the aforementioned cars. It seems like a lot of commenters here just don’t like the idea of underdogs taking on (and beating) the prestigious “leaders.”

Very impressive. This is so much more appealing than the Veyron. I love that it's a beefed up American V8 instead of an esoteric and untouchable "W12", they don't hide the engine, and they used a real manual transmission and gave the driver full control of the car without nanny aids. It also looks way better and is a fraction of the price. I don't like the name, but that's minor. The company seems a lot more down to earth, not as elitist and condescending as the vibe I get from Bugatti. I'll chalk that up to American vs West European. I also notice that Jay was allowed to take his own cameraman in the car with him, rather than a company representative. Everything about Bugatti and it's hyper-insulated Veyron rubs me the wrong way. This SSC Aero is an awesome pure car. I'm not actually interested in extreme >200mph high speed cars like this, but if I were in that market, there's no doubt I'd be intrigued by this.

yea SERIOSULY the interlace is fucking annoying. The car deserved Better. I love it for the price.. But the look is Oldish, like 1990. I'd like up-to-date style. That is me. Plus it sounds cheapish with the way it was clutching. And tires arent hugging the road but ripping everytime? need new tires soon.

This is an extremely underrated car. I would take this over a Veyron in a heartbeat. It’s American, a better driver’s car and much more practical

All these people are talking about how ugly this car it.....if it rolled by, you would all have to scrape your jaws off the floor. If it showed up in you r drive way, unlocked with the keys and a note saying "Its yours", you would probably take better care of it than your kids

Many people say it's ugly. I think it looks better than the Veyron or the Chiron. And the back of it looks better than the Koenigsegg's. And it costs third-fourth of those cars.

so believe it or not I met the guy who has one of these and it was the first ultimate are ever made it was ls swapped for reasons Idk why I never asked him but it was gumballed from Cali to Florida where it sits now. It now lays in Florida at the dealership that the guy owns its called bullet auto group located right next to lock n' load Miami.

This car does not look modern at all.. But, it seems like a well-executed car, especially considering it's from a company that no one had ever heard of before this car.
