Someone questioned the switches amp rating and though there are larger 12 gauge wires going to the motors the entire power source for the memory seat module and switch assembly is provided through that single 16 gauge green/red wire. The large yellow/orange at the vehcile plug is for the heated seat. In regards to the vehicle plug wiring Driver side seat Black white stripe - ground for seat belt chime Solid light green - source for the seat belt chime Solid green - ground for the heated seat relay coil Solid white - 12v supply for the heated seat relay coil (power on to activate heater grids) Yellow with orange - 12v supply voltage for the heated seat relay Black with the purple wire - ground (runs up to both the heated seat grids and to the switches) Light green with red strip - 12v supply for the seat switch/ memory module Passenger side seat Gray with yellow - 12v source for heated seat relay coil Solid light green - ground for heated seat relay coil Yellow with orange- 12v source to power heated seat grids when relay is active Purple with black - ground for switches and heated seat grids Gray with red - 12v source for the switches
You're basically wiring the switches directly to the motors and supplying power to the common conductor and supplying power directly to the motors when the switches are hit. The existing layout appears to have the switches as "control" inputs to the module, and the module send fwd/bkwd - Up/Down signals to the motors via the small terminals on the tops of the motors... My only questions, is the switch on the driver side able to handle the higher current of running the motors directly through them like the passenger side seat? Is it just the harness with smaller gauge wire, while using the same high current switch? Ford is stupid cheap, doubt they gave us High current switches, but its only on for a short period of time.... Make sure ya'll fuse it correclty, think they require a 30amp for both seats, so 15 amps per seat?
You actually wired 4 wires backwards the yellows are supposed to be together as well as the purple and white with purple stripe but this helped me out majorly thanks allot bro
I understand this wiring is to bypass the memory box done great instructions , my question is what about the passenger side is this procedure still in same ?
