So nice to see the fluid change for MY truck. My 2009 Tacoma has no overfill plug, no 24mm fill plug, but it does have a dipstick! How many of these "helpful" 2nd gen Tacoma ATF drain videos apply to my setup? Almost none.
I hope you did this a few more times to get more of that old fluid out. I used the same style pan you have but I poured the used fluid in an old 5 quart old jug to see exactly how much came out. I replaced a little over 4 quarts in a 2007 Tacoma 2.7L 👍
Thank you for this video! I’m getting ready to do the same service to my Tacoma. Not much content out there for the 4cylinder 4 speed auto transmission drain and fill procedure.
If the truck is parked on level ground, and by the way, there is no reason to jack up the truck, there is plenty of clearance to climb underneath without jacking it up. Draining the trans will take 4.25 quarts. to refill. Jacking up the front end just drains the fluid to the back of the pan. Thats why he only needed two quarts to refill. Watch other videos and they all use 4.25 quarts to drain and refill this same powertrain.
Okay thank you! The reason I used the ramp ang jacks the car is too little underneath, there is only a little clearance, and the total oil I take out from the truck is 2.5 quarts but I ended up puting 3 quarts because after driving it when I check the dip stick it was low. And I only see one video doing the 4 cylinder one , and didn’t give much info.
