This is the end of the summer mods. There is a oil temp gauge...After market gas cap and the biggest mod for the summer is a Tach mounted on the master cylinder. #xjoe81x #jaykay18
I realize this is an older video, But I gotta tell you. That bike is about the most beautiful that I have ever seen. You got the paint/chrome combo just right, (in my opinion). I have a '98 V Star 650 classic, I like the thicker front tire. But otherwise I'm gonna Bob it and your bike is a great model to refer to. P S, the paint ! FANTASTIC !!!
Hello Daniel. I got the bike with only 322 Miles on it. So i changed all the fluids myself just to be sure. I am only at approx. 1200 or so miles now. But right around 3000 miles should be a good time to changed the fluids. Don't forget the rear gear oil also.
To be real honest with you Paige I received the bike with the front pegs already on. Front pegs are a personal preference. Any bike shop and on-line carrier will have options for the front pegs. I think the biggest situation will be the placement of the mounting hardware. Since it's a metric bike there shouldn't be a problem with finding what you like and stating your make and model for accurate install. Watch my first videos on the bike, I think I taped the name of my front pegs in my walk around video.
Sup, I know that I'm a lil bit late, but I'm not sure if you still remember, but what is this size of this ape handlebars ? Did you remember where u bought that ? Cheers from Calgary-AB
I like they key entry gas cap, if it sat more flush with that tank it would be a bonus though. its pretty incredible how poorly available choices are for handlebar mounted gas guage options that dont involve drilling into the gas tank. certanly a big money market if someone tapped into it.
This is almost EXACTLY what I wanna do to a V Star 650 except I wanna put a smoked out led headlight and have a little different style and suze ape bars. I wanna get 8-10 inch T style bars. You nailed the bike mam, it looks so good! The blacked out look is perfect and that is what I want exactly! Problem is, I'm struggling to find a V Star 650 and in the right condition, mileage and price. They surprisingly hold their value really well and seem to be far few and between cuz ive only seen about 3 come up for sale within 200 miles of me basically this entire year. I noticed you mentioned Newburgh NY which is where I grew up and I currently live in Monticello NY so I wonder if you've seen any come up for sale and if so what websites do you use to find them?
Hey bud, I just saw this comment and wanted to tell you just like I told a couple of other fellas on here, I picked up one of these off the bay of evil a few months back, but I found it by doing a web search for "Baron Custom Accessories BA-7450U Profiler Gas Cap". Hope it helps.
nice looking bike bro, btw what kind of pipe is that, sound good, and how much cost? did you painted black ? rear fender look so cool and sharp,,what is the website you bought those? thanks bud,,,i appreciate very much your video !
hey, I'm considering on getting a v-star 650. i was wondering, how tall are you? because I'm 6'0 and was wondering if this bike would be comfortable for my height
hey nice bike I was wondering about your foot pegs I have a 2007 with footboards an I want to change them out for pegs an I cant seem to find them have any suggestions
Badass bike, bars aren't for me but the rest is awesome! I have 07 650 Classic. What gauge is that aft of the aircleaner? Somebody wants to be a hero - make an aftermarket final drive kit for our bikes!!
Hey Larry, I just got this same question a couple of hours ago, and I already posted a comment but saw this and thought I'd state it again just in case you haven't been to this video in a while. I got mine off the bay of evil, but I know I did a web search and found more than one result. You might try a search for "Baron Custom Accessories BA-7450U Profiler Gas Cap", that's how I found mine. Hope this helps
Thank you for the video. Can you give a link of where you have purchased all these goodies, especially tachometer. And is there an instructions manual of how to connect tachometer gauge (install)? Thanks o lot. (Your fan from Russia))
Hello friend! how are u? I am Brazilian and I apologize for bad English. your bike is very beautiful. I have a silver 2005 and here in Brazil is unfortunately no longer manufactured. I liked the RPM meter and marker oil. I want to know how much when you change the oil in your bike, here in Brazil is changed every 3000 Km. Hug.
Don't know if anyone is still monitoring this thread but I thought I'd see anyway. I did some research on the flush mount gas cap because I was considering getting one for my 2005 V-Star. For some reason, all the distributors I found that sold these say that they don't fit Yamaha V-Star 650's. Yet here is proof that it does. Weird huh. Something else that seems to be debated online is if these caps are vented. Well, after talking to the manufacture (or the company that puts its name on them - Barons) the caps are supposed to be vented. Sooo… at least that question is settled. The only question I have for xjoe81x is After having this on your bike for a while now, have you had any issues with it coming loose or leaking?
No leaking but comes loose from time to time. There is no real way to mount this unless you tack weld it. So what in did was apoxy it and place it down into its position. After time the gas moving around eats the glue and it starts to rattle.
@@xjoe81x Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I've read several reviews stating the same thing about it coming loose. I also read something about using JB Weld as apposed to the epoxy. I might consider that if I buy the cap. I really like the way yours looks, and the thought of not having to mess with the key at the pump is appealing. Love the bike by the way. I've watched the video a few times and it always stands out.
@@xjoe81x Hello again, I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I already installed the gas cap and after some consideration have decided I will buy a tach. I absolutely love the look and ease of function of the cap. It something so small and simple...YET, seems to make a great deal of difference to me. I used some JB Weld to attach the adaptor so only time will tell if it will come loose, but I highly doubt it. The JB Weld putty I used is supposed be able to repair fuel tanks among many other things and it is super strong. Once I get my tach, I will try to post you a pic if I can figure it out. Thanks again for the video, it really did inspire me to make a few more changes.
Daniel it's not that long ago and I thought I got it from sscustomcycle.com. You can go to there web page and look. I would call them and also ask. If they don't have it then just google oil temp gauge for a motorcycle and look up the images and there is tons of them.
Very nice mods you made on your bike, love it, even I am more on vintage look, your bike is awesome, check my channel if you will, you'll see what I'm talking about "vintage", I own a vulcan 800 and was looking for a smaller bike hopping it will be lighter, but realize that the yamaha 650 is the same weight as my kawy, so too bad, but anyway, awesome bike once again, like it, take care Bro.
