I just bought a 2009 Tiguan from Auction. Battery wouldn’t come out. I thought somebody glued it down. I’m glad I came across your video.

Replaced my 2016 Tiguan battery after watching your video. However, now people are telling me I need to register the new battery in my vehicle. I have driven my Tiguan for two weeks now. No issue. No check engine light or anything. (Is the battery registration a gimmick for dealership to make money?)

I know this is a long time ago, but the reason more than likely is because your Tig doesn't have Start/Stop technology for the alternator. The fact you were able to start and drive it without issue says so. Cars with start stop need to have a scan tool hooked up to OBDII so it can register the new battery with the ECU. It's not a scam, but it is a newer feature that creates more steps a mechanic can charge for.

Yes. But you can also "train" your car by driving for 20-30 min.

10 mm on the terminals. 13 mm on the bracket. If I recall correctly.

Do you know what size the nuts are for the negative lead connector (the very first thing you loosen)? Mine fell into the car
