My thoughts on this are simple: It brought me back. It brought me back to a time that I fondly remember and will always cherish. Watching PAC 10/ PAC 12 football from this era will always be special!
Me too dude. Especially watching what our conference has become. I'm a Ducks fan, but I'm pretty sure I speak for every team when I say we've fallen pretty far from this level.
When Oregon was peak with Chip Kelly could've had 2 national title with Thomas and Mariota hope DJ Uiagalelei can go to Oregon and revive the U Of O back to the national stage
Rosco P. Coltrane never say never. Philly never had a SB and now look they have one. You’re just one of those self centered people who lives in their mother’s basement.
@Rosco P. Coltrane I'll remember this comment. Oregon is getting a natty in the 20s! Keep hating until then! You'll be quiet when we blow out USC again this year at Autzen
@Rosco P. Coltrane You say they were blown out against OSU. It was a 1 score game near the end of the 3rd but lack of depth killed them. Their receiver corps were decimated. In fact they were missing a ton of starters for that game. At full strength, that would have been a very different game. You're also forgetting the year Dixon got hurt. They were very much in the hunt for a NC. Of course, there was the Auburn game. They've got close 3-4 times. And now they're recruiting at a level they never did before. Finished #4 last year as a young team, bring in 3 more 5 star dudes this year. Never say never.
Lmao i was at this game. Drove all the way from University in sunny LA to Oregon (the snow on the roads there was astounding) and now living in the UK it’s absolutely inconceivable how life unfolds. Never before had I seen a state so different from California in my life
I'll never forget Matt Barkley saying before this game something like "I don't see what the big deal is about playing in Autzen. How loud could it be? " 😂
Wow, just total explosion 2nd half. This is Kelly's strategy in a nutshell; blazing speed no huddle every down, keep you running running running, covering receivers, reacting to screens....and it will eventually break you. Gassed defenders can't get off blocks and you have your way with a top defense. PLUS: back then nobody else played like that; nowadays everyone does it so every defense practices in no huddle with visual cues get in position right away.
Pete Carrol's biggest weakness is his preference for Old School. He still thinks in terms of run game being everything and stopping the run. No Huddle Oregon whipped him, Shotgun Option Texas. The only reason the 2013-14 Seahawks peaked was adopting Chip Kellyesque Zone Read that unleashed Lynch with optioned off defenders; he let Darrel Bevel experiment, and all that opened up deadly play action. PLUS; an effective anti pass defense that was just good enough vs the run. Speed. The first of the modern elite defenses, the Nickelback is more important then the 3rd LB.
