Free, but not quite not really with jay z. Jay has been consistent throughout his whole career it's past his prime yeah! because music has changed it's youth driven. thats all. not "way past" But the car to three was a classic and that's one of the best rap albums ever so I don't know if you're trying to say the carter 3 wasn't that good that album was amazing
you could even argue 13 and 14 when he was releasing singles for c5. what's funny about those years is that's when people really started hating on wayne yet everyone was bumping grinding, belive me, and loyal and everyone knew Wayne's verses
My favourite thing about Lil Wayne’s songs is that when I listen to them years later, I get references I never understood. He is a true lyrical genius.
08 was the BEST year in rap, Lupe made a beast album, t.I made another good ass album, jay made a classic and so did Nas. Honestly I feel like they all equally deserved it.
Cliff Harmon Rebirth only had a few good songs on it, i am not a human being sucked, my beautiful twisted dark fantasy is overrated and was not as good as college dropout, graduation or late registration. 2010 was not better
Lupe didn't win cuz Wayne was that nigga in 08. Lupe had the better album but for Tha Carter III not to get it would be some bullshit. That album was legendary even though it didn't QUITE live up to it's own hype. Nobody had a run like Wayne had back then. Lupe knew he wasn't bout to win that shit lol
Ervin Mitchell the fucked up part was the original version got leaked & that was way better & it was made into a mixtape the drought is over 2 so imagine what the real carter III could've potentially became even though legendary already
Wayne was totally right when he said the Grammys will nominate him for everything possible but only give him Best Rap Album as a concession. Tyler won "Best Urban Album" when he didn't qualify for mainstream categories when his album wasn't even a rap album, and told the press after the win what "urban" actually means.
Prime wayne was something else... 2007-2013 was completely OWNED by him. Most underrated rapper ever. Saying he isn’t top 5 all time is the stupidest shit ever
The Cool was literally one of the greatest albums of the year. It's one of the hip-hop albums with the most meaning that I've ever listened to. At least it was a nominee, I suppose...
2 veterans (Nas and Jay) and 2 rappers with one of his best projects in his careers (Lupe and T.I.). But Needles to say Wayne owned 2008 so props to him.
Carter III will definitely go down as one of the greatest Hip-Hop albums say what you will about Wayne but dude was in his bag when he made this record
