that push pin is not broken.. the middle inside piece is supposed to pop up and out. it works best that way... pull up the inner 'pin' portion, it releases the outward pressure on the exterior 'body' portion. then pop out the body itself. reverse going back in... body portion first, then push in the inner pin piece. No need to remove the entire inner fender liner (either side), just remove those two forward (outer) Philips screws (one lower and one mid-level) and the one mid-level retainer clip same spot as the mid-level forward screw. you can leave the rest of the plastic retainer clips / screws and the inner fender liners in place.
