2012 2013 2014 Honda CRV Front Bumper Removal How to Remove Replace Install Grille

I've had this video filed away for about a year, knowing that I had to replace the housing for the driving light on my wife's CRV (now handed down to our daughter). I finally got around to it this week and the video was absolutely perfect - so perfect I discovered that apparently when the Honda dealer did some warranty work several years ago, they didn't put the lower part of the bumper shroud back together properly (I had one bolt and 5 body pins underneath instead of 2 and 4).

Was going to bring mine to a shop but thanks to this video will tackle on my own!

Excellent instructions. Finding those two top corner clips is quite the trick. They are barely visible through the grill slats ,with a LOT of light.at an awkward viewing angle. Luckily they are yellow so they are recognizable when looking carefully through a small slot in the plastic surrounding it. Thank you.

Just replaced the top cover on Honda CRV and it took took me 20 minutes. Your video was great couldn't have done it without it.

You rock! Thanks for that man. There was a table on the freeway and I had to replace a busted front light. The parts list saved me a lot of grief too. Now I have to figure out if I can salvage the fog light.

Great instructions. Those two hidden grille clips in the top corners are pretty tricky. But at the final stage of pulling off the wrap - I wouldn't just start pulling straight forward, especially on an older car, because the older plastic gets, the more brittle it becomes. After breaking the 3 connection points on each side, I decided to slow down and carefully pry each of the 4 remaining connection points on the front. Just get a small flat head and go along the top of the front, twisting / prying those points loose. Totally worked and I didn't break those remaining plastic "tabs" that clip the top on. I'm not too worried about the broken 3 on the sides because of the screw on each side.

Thanks a zillion. Installing a base plate and tow bar, and their instructions just didn't make sense on taking the grill off by unclipping from the backside. Coming in from the front of the grill is SOO much easier. Thanks!

The screw in the wheel well could be removed with a regular screwdriver if you just turn the wheel inward before starting each side.

Perfect, thank you so much, I ordered grill clips first because I knew they weuld be brittle and they were. Got the grill off after very careful work..the top clips being the hardedst. I did break 3, but I bought 30 for about $9 on Amazon. Changed out my daughters headlights and this video helped immensely. Unfortunately her hood cable is now broke so I have to do it again.🤦‍♂

Excellent video. I only had one problem. The bottom screws by the wheel wells were rusted and very difficult. Thanks for posting.

On a 10 year old CR-V the yellow plastic clips get brittle and I ended up breaking 5 out of 6. Also, do not pull the bumper as shown at the end. The holes in the bumper the connect to the clips under the headlights are small and weak and will break. Use the same technique as shown in the video for releasing the clips on the sides of the bumper cover.

I have watched this video ( Great by the way) over and over again to get clues on releasing these two yellow clips at the top of the grille, but no luck. I even made a special tool to get in and push the tab up. trying to pry and apply just enough force to pull off the grille but not crack any of the plastic! Has anyone had success with this?

Hello! I was wondering if you might consider doing a video on how to remove items that get lost below in the door of a power window in a 2013 Honda CRV. I left 2 one inch in diameter suction cups on my window and forgot to remove them before I rolled down the driver side window. Both got lost into the door and now there’s a windy sound when I drive on the freeway. Could you pls help? Thanks so much! What a great channel.

Very helpfull video. Ive been looking for a aftermarket grill and i found one but this grill has the plastic aswell whats in youre video under the headlight. The plastic trim (black/grey)under the headlight is it connected with the bumper or can i remove these without removing the bumper?

Did you actually order those yellow grille clips from Amazon? Just wondering because the product description page makes no reference as to how many clips come in that package and I would like to know how much I will be getting. LOL! I've tried but I cannot remove my grill as shown here. I was able to view the yellow clips from underneath and even try to pry it from under but still not happening. Any suggestion?

if your in the rust bolt the bottom 10 mm bolts need plenty of penetrating fluid - a pain to get out.

the yellow clips always breaks!!!! It dosn't work like in the video!!!!!! No way!!!!! Buy new 8 yellow clips and remove the grill

and HONDA will charge you $257 dollars just to remove the grill n bumper cover $$$ they say it takes 1 1/2 hours of labor ????

Hey, genius. You took off the bumper COVER. The bumper is that big white curved piece in front of the radiator. Now that the bumper COVER is off, you can proceed to remove the actual bumper.
