I have an 04 1300 C. Love this bike, easy to ride and handle, gets a consistent 48 to 50 miles per gallon. I put risers on my stock handle bars, brings it up 1 inch up and back 1 inch, better for my back. I put the Kuriakan (sp) mini floorboards on, very comfortable and if I lean into the turn to far they will bend back on the peg, along with my riders angel. I think Honda really nailed it with this engine. It has so much torque for the horsepower. I'm 6ft, 285 lbs and this baby will pull my fat A _ _ up the hill with no problem. I have a windshield, and a nice tail bag to carry my stuff. No major mods to the engine, none needed. I will turn 80 this coming July, and my goal is to throw my leg over and ride on my birthday. It is the best therapy in the world. Ride safe.

I had the exact same year and model. Bought it brand new in crate in June 2006 for about 7300 dollars, what a bargain. Had it 5 years and then multiple bikes since, not sure any of them were as good except for my 2014 Victory Cross Country which I still own. Now am getting a hankering to get another, this time windshield or Tsukayu fairing, floorboards, bags and oem exhaust, do not like loud pipes and having to screw with the carb. Wish they still made this model new with FI and touring model and in Marysville, OH.

I've got a 2004 too....just posted on the video and saw your comment...I'm gonna copy and paste what I said so you see it in the reply lol I just bought a 2004 VTX 1300 with less than 20k miles on it. Yes, you read that right, 20 years old, less than 20k miles. Plot twist: I bought it from a guy here in Texas who sadly got flooded in the recent rains. It took on about a foot and a half of water. He's a friend and too old to ride these days so he told me "$500 and it's yours", so clearly I couldn't turn THAT shit down. Clearly I have my work cut out for me, but I'm happy to do it. Here's the thing, I've RIDDEN for 15 years, but I've never ONCE turned a wrench on a motorcycle. Plenty of cars, and I'm an HVAC mechanic by trade, so I likely have the "mechanical knowledge and skill set" to do the work that needs to be done. That said, I'm always happy to take advice. I've found the owners manual online, but CLEARLY I'm gonna need some parts, and what I DON'T see in the manual are PARTS BREAKDOWN AND PARTS NUMBERS. Curious if anyone here knows where I can find what I guess would be called the "SERVICE" manual, with breakdowns and part numbers. This was a great video btw, you made me even more excited to get mine cleaned up and on the road!

I have an '06 1300c VTX and love it. A few things I would change is I d care for the headlight design, but I've learned to live with it. Also the kick stand I a bear to find when you stop and try to put it down. It's really tucked in very tight so it's hard to get your foot to hook it to pull it down. I have since bolted on an extention peg ( bought off Amazon for Harleys) and bolted it on. Now it's very easy to put the kick stand down with no problem.

I have an '09 VTX 1300C with Vance and Hines Long Shots. Love the sound with that single pin crank, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bike is. Most Hondas I've owned, with the exception of a Goldwing, needed to have the stock seats replaced in order to ride them all day long, but this stock seat isn't actually too bad. Thanks for posting the video.

I just bought an 07 1300R with Cobra pipes. Sounds good but I really like the V&H Longshots better. I've heard em on Kawasaki 1500s and it was the best sound. Just wondering how much they cost but I'll probably stick with my Cobras.

That's a great find! Should be a fun project! Sounds like you will have the skills needed to tackle the project. The key will be cleaning every electrical connection and treating it with electrical grease. If the ECU and or tip over switch were under water you may want to replace them. There are lots of online services manual options some free some paid, I have always used the free ones, and asked my local dealer to provide part numbers I was missing they seemed happy to provide them and were always super interested in the projects. They are quite simple bikes with a simple and robust wiring harness! Good luck with the project!

I absolutely love mine, I've got an '04 vtx 1300 c model i got full cobra pipes on mine with hypercharger as well I've got 32k on mine and runs great, only real problem I've experienced is the bad oem steering head bearings would do a death wobble on deceleration but replaced them with the all balls bearings and now no more death wobble

I just put money down on an 07 VTX1300C, but I'm in Minnesoter, so I need to wait a bit to ride it. I traded in my 07 Shadow Aero, which is a fun bike, but I needed a bit more top end to keep up with my riding mates. All the owner's reviews I've seen on this bike are good, so come April I can't wait for "2 wheels down" even if it's 40 degrees.

I have this exact same bike 2009 VTX1300C. Great bike except my only wish and it really needs this sooo bad if the VTX ever comes back is a sixth gear! This is only a 5 speed so on interstate =high RPM's bad gas mileage riding across South Dakota to Sturgis on I90 which has an 80MPH speed limit. It's still rides pretty smooth and handles nice at 90mph no problem. At 70mph or greater with some luggage gets about 33 to 35mpg but at

@@TRCAdventures Hello 👋🏽 I inherited an 06 vtx1300r w 11k miles good condition garage kept mostly stock several upgrades like cobra seats HD progressive f&r shocks just did an oil change, radiator flush, new fuel lines, new radiator hoses and brake fluid flushed done by Honda dealership. Will also have a local shop here in Vegas reseal the fuel tank and clean out the carb in a few weeks. She’s in storage for the winter atm and the plan is to sell her spring time tax season time early 2022. Any idea how much I could get for her roughly? asking for a friend 😉 ps I’m a total noob when it comes to motorcycles and don’t even have a motorcycle license but I do have the title to my name now and my friend who gave it to me was the original owner

Hi. Nice video. Sorry late to the party. Thinking about buying one of these or a v star 1300. Any opinions.
@TRCAdventures
@TRCAdventures Год назад
I have not ridden the V start but from what I hear the V star will feel a bit more powerful as it revs out a bit more than the Honda, the V star has a better fuel injection system that has an automatic cold start system the Honda has a cold start knob, very similar bikes, the Honda has a shaft drive and Yamaha uses a belt drive, shaft drive is arguably better but a belt is better than a chain so both are good! Lots of other small differences but they are known to be great bikes. Hard choice!
@MaaZeus
@MaaZeus 2 месяца назад
The biggest difference, outside of fuel injection (which is a huge plus for Vstar) is the engine type. Yamaha is a very oversquare (for a cruiser) engine, which means it does make more horsepower but most of its the power and torque happens at mid revs and up. You need to rev it out more to keep the engine in its happy place and it does not like lugging. VTX1300 on the other hand has an undersquare, long stroke engine (which makes liquid cooling an odd choice, air/oil cooling would have been enough I think) which doesn't rev out as much and therefore does not make as much horsepower but all of its torque happens down low. It is more typical cruiser engine in its power delivery, more Harley like than Yamaha is.

The VTX 1300 is a great bike, easy to ride, and was my brother's first street bike, it would make a good first bike as much as it is a good bike for experienced riders. They do great for road trips too!
