I lost my mom march 29 2009. She was murdered brutally and have hated myself for not being there and shot H overdosing 14 various times trying to be where she now is. I'm sober now 6 years and heard this song and I have been able to let her go in some ways. I've been given a reason for still standing here alive but I keep my head above water hoping I find it. I have an older son who’s 16 now. This hits because me and his Mom didn’t work out. 2009 it was me and him. We’re estranged now, I’ve tried everything to connect with him but his Mom hasn’t been exactly helpful. Been to court a million times, nothing. The thing is I’m a good dude, got remarried and have 2 kids with my current wife. But I always think about 2009 with my Bubba. Miss you Buddy. ❤

I was balls deep in active addiction in 2009. I saw no way out and life was hopeless. I'm 11 years clean today. I just wish he could have found recovery. I get sad when I remember Mac's not here anymore.
